DRDO claim on LCA export premature: Former top IAF officers

Why don't you check on ADA's website? Authentic government website will give you all the details.

No.

These "official" websites are useless as crap. Both countries suck when it comes to government website. Data on Hal website regarding Tejas and PAC's website regarding JF-17 Thunder is like light years old. Both airplanes have moved way beyond now. Therefore I gather most upto date data.

Most credible and latest up-to-date data comes from airshows presentations by the director of JF-17 program, or the specifications chart displayed infront of Tejas at latest airshows etc. In air shows, you show your airplane to international professional "customers"...So mostly data is checked and up-to-date.

^^No.
For the Tejas, the ADA website is the most informative and it is regularly updated(unsure about the frequency of updates, though).

Tejas Light Combat Supersonic Fighter - Airforce Technology

Welcome to Aerospace Division of HAL

various sources claims The aircraft weighs around 5,450kg and its maximum take-off weight is 13,500kg.Dont what two take Lets go with Your Figure:undecided::undecided:

lol...One advice: Don't go near HAL and PAC websites. They are crappiest of crap.

Me and Sancho (senior member from India) discussed this to death. Hal's website is ALL OVER THE PLACE...and so in PAC website.

The chart I have pegs Tejas' payload at 3500...I have seen on ADA website that if you subtract maximum take-off weight from empty weight of Tejas, then the number comes to 3700kg

So 3700 is the maximum payload Tejas can carry as of now (Even though all the credible records/websites say 3500kg...but I think that it can be "increased" theoretically to 3700kg if you really push it.)

So 3500kg to 3700kg makes sense.

Right?

The one's who developed the aircraft.

You made a few claims there .Please substantiate it!

I will.

Yes(and remember the FOC has not been achieved yet so the specifications 'may' change).
The ADA website is maintained professionally,so you can use it for reference.

Because, the general notion is that, for outsiders to accept it, first your own people should accept it.........and if your own people are corrupt, they'll never accept it........so you can't sell it to outsiders............it's like a 'vicious cycle'........which never ends.....

IMHO, we should scrap this LCA project altogether.......what's the need to invest in something which we'll never use.....
In-fact, I think, we should scrap all indigenous development projects because there will always be better alternatives outside......
So Army,Airforce and Navy are corrupt only the guys at DRDO are saints....like that saint from Kerala

DRDO can bitch about IAF if they have a finished product and IAF's not buying it.This is the first time an organisation is accusing the buyer of not committing to their unfinished product :cheesy:

Even after 30 years there's nothing on the table other than brain farts:rofl:

LCA needs to proove itself in Indian Airforce first.
Ws are deploying JF17 successfully in Bombing Missions against Taliban Insurgents. India should do the same by DEPLOYING the plane first in IAF. Only then someone will put its money in it.
Altough Tejas is a fine Plane in its class. Only its cost bothers me.It can never compete against mig-35s and J10 in that 30-40m price tag.

Saves a lot in operating costs though(The GE engine has higher TBO and lower SFC).
Plus the current cost is around 26 Million USD.

When did you deploy jf17 in bombing? its all F16. Jf17 has been inducted because of lack of options.

There is an amazing, cost effective, tailor made fighter with zero crashes in the last 15 years...so not exactly brain farts.
And I agree with some who say that IAF had commitment issues until recently.
The IAF should have had a better system to monitor the program, mentor it and help rectify the shortcomings.
The Navy OTOH is funding the NLCA project and wants to operate the NLCA from it's carriers!
That is confidence!
