actually you know what it isnt really a zero sum game ......if the Chinese Administration wants it can manage a balancing act between Good relations with India and extensive help to pakistan.....this was the case for several years during the Vajpayee administration......I still remember news reports of a positive developement in the border talks when JN Dixit was the GoI negotiator....recognizing Tibet by India and China reciprocating on Sikkim was an all time high..... but
in recent times there has been a spate of unwanted incidents which has apparently soured the once thriving relationship( we were supposed to even engaged in a "Strategic Bilateral Partnership " of sorts ) ......Really hope that cooler heads prevail in both the Administrations paving the way for a bright Asian future ......

One of my greatest dreams, is that of a great "Asian alliance" between all of us in Asia.

If we are all allies, then who can contain us? That's right, nobody.

That would truly be the "Asian century"... an unstoppable cascade of Asian power.

Well India should want Us-Canada relationship (i mean free transfer) than they may.

But only problem I see is democracy (ya just joke probably) and communist (not that bad).

Both Administrations safeguarding their respective interests ...

For China : a blanket support on the Tibetan Issue ( which India has been giving up till now when we are reacting to provocations ....
other assurances on Taiwan and Xinxiang .....which have been given but can be rethought by the Ext affair Min of India ....if pushed too hard...
Limiting the U.S role ....expecting India to keep a distance from any U.S strategic alliance in the Future ....

For India : A blanket assurance on Territorial integrity ...on Issues like Arunachal Pradesh and Kashmir......main sticking point.....

limiting Chinese role ( be it economy or Military ) in South Asia....
and not arming Pakistan to the teeth against us .....economic help is absolutely fine......

if we can meet even half way on these issues ..the views of our administration can converge........

Although China and India cannot join fully until Pakistan issue is clear but China itself can help to solve it as he himself is the third party of dispute.

We are talking about alliance similar to EU. Because our access would not be restricted to China but will include at least Indonesia, Thailand, Veitnam, Laos, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Korea, etc.

You missed Russia and the entire Central Asian bloc ....Tajikistan , Khazakhstan , Uzbekistan , Krygystan etc.....

I was talking about our relationship with China, i.e China would not want us as equals (just like the relation between USA-Canada is unequal), but we would never accept that.

Actually Russia wants us to become permanent members (we're observers now), but it wont be a good idea to join until our border disputes with China are solved
