The virus has very high R0, and it can cause p2p transmission by people who is either health virus carrier or show mild or no symptoms yet, and the rate of death and cost to rescue of critical illed patient is significantly higher than treat mild-condition patients (there are already some treatment in China and Europe that worked with mild-condition patients or health carriers, reducing the risk for them to develop into critical condition).

So if you don't track back the social cycle of the patient and do sufficient test to people with risks, and don't isolate potential risks at earlier stage, then with the kind of R0 of this virus, the patients can easily grow at exponential rate, and eventually overpower the public health system with too many critical conditioned patients.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said social distancing measures appear to be working — but stressed that the coronavirus pandemic is still a very serious situation.

Fauci cautioned that the US hasn’t seen a turnaround in cases yet, but is hopeful that efforts to push mitigation is possibly slowing the rate.

“What we're starting to see right now is just the inklings. And I don't want to put too much stock on it, because you don't want to get overconfident, you just want to keep pushing in what you're doing. your effort is wasted. you didn't explain anything to me because you didn't address my point at all. my point is that you cannot compare the different numbers measured at different places and with different methodologies and different criteria. you are free to ignore that if comparison makes you feel good but it only makes you less logical.
