Arrested by the Pakistani authorities, the Afghan authorities and and the US authorities.
Musharraf gov handed over many innocent Pakistanis, Afghans, and other nationals to the Americans. This is the main issue here.
Furthermore, Afghan authorities (Kabul citystate) is just an American puppet, nothing more. Afghans have rejected it.
Aafia Siddiqui, coupled with lal masjid mishandling, arresting/beating politicians (including IK,) persecuting journalists, and total slavery to Washington against the wishes of Pakistani awaam led to the overthrow of Musharraf.
It's not just that. Justice should be seen as being served, the shadows over this case need to be removed - she's been a martyr for jihadis for too long.
Don't speak about matters which you do not know of. She went to Afghanistan for aid work, nothing more. Everything else you are getting is fabricated by Americans.
Case and point, Pakistani government is trying to secure her extradition to Pakistan.
I don't agree with releasing Shakil Afridi, he is a criminal who put the lives of Pakistanis at risk by giving sensitive medical information to foreigners, along with the spread of fake (jali) lethal vaccines by Americans to kill of undesirable populations.
The demand to release Aafia Siddiqui was put forth by the Taliban, even before the release of their own prisoners, because the thought of an innocent women suffering rape and abuse at the hands of American prison guards is too much...
Mufti Taqi Usmani was consulted by the Taliban, this is when they relayed the information to him. Pakistani government is very keen to get her back. It should be a precondition of any help in talks with Taliban.
