CM means little in India. Power is decentralized in our system.
Please stop being your usual insecure desi selves and realize that the argument has to do with the people.. human psychology rather than the system.

Everything is fine and I agree overall with what you posted. But being a Pakistani, you won't be able to grasp the Indian mindset or our election process. There was a time when caste/ creed/ religion was epitome in elections. Even now it is true for certain areas. But you cannot say that for India as a whole.
Again, the issue with many Indians in general is that they take arguments on a very tangential level of critique and find it offensive rather than realizing the issue being pointed out.
The argument here has NOTHING to do with the constitution of India, nor the democratic system it abides to.. nor the merit/demerit of appointing who from where from a performance perspective.
It has to do with the emotional response of the population being governed and their perspective on the candidate to govern them; the reasons for that response and its effects on their rejection of even valid performance by the candidate.
Then make me grasp it instead of being high and mighty. Because at this point it looks exactly as if these factors are alive and well.
Who cares what you think....and who is we!...Unfortunately for you and your kind, who live in India as Citizens of that country are ruled by the people who elected their leader...so yes you are ruled..if you dont like too you have two options..leave or Die...the choice is yours. How am I ruled by a Hindu? We don't recognize your leader as our ruler.
Hindu CM in JK, will create more problems. There should only a Muslim CM in a muslim majority state.
Our constitution reflects the will and aspirations of our people. It presents the framework and guidelines for governance. Our constitution does not encourage any social evil and provides for a mechanism to deal with all evils. However, the success of democracy is in its maturity and the education of the people and Indian democracy is moving forward towards the ideals every day.Your constitution has NOTHING to do with how the person on the ground feels. If the Indian people were literal translations of their constitution there would be NO communal riots, NO Caste discrimination, No Ethnic issues, NO class discrimination and so on.
The State's ethos and character does not always mean that it will reflect on the nation of people that reside in it. And this stark reality is not confined to India but to all states in the world. Just because the state feels that Muslims, Hindus and all others are equal citizens of the state it does not imply that you or any ABC Indian would automatically agree with it. Hence, any appointment of a deserving, meritorious CM does not mean that it will be seen that way.
But the counterargument is, the very people you are referring to are slowly but steadily and surely moving out of this mindset.
1) Lok at Lok Sabha elections, BJP won in many Muslim/ Congress/ third front strongholds even though media portrayed it as a hardliner hindutva party.
2) Same in Maharashtra. Sena / BJP were both hindutvawadis, but Sena lost in its own Marathi soil and BJP won Why? Because today people' perception is more towards economic upliftment, strong leadership/ visionary leaders/ etc. Obviously this is more in urbanised/ forward states but slowly, India as a whole is changing in its outlook/ perception than 2 decades back.

Oscar, I am not being high or moral. I am stating my pov which is shared by many Indians (as your post talk about psychology and mindsets of Indians and me being one of them).
i think BJP itself knows they havent a chance in indian-Occupied KASHMIR.....any attempts to impose fanatical right-wing saffron politics on Kashmir (majority Muslim) would only be sure to create a serious communal incident - or spate of incidents which will turn bloody.
BJPs agenda is crystal clear, and the Kashmiri people wont be buying that garbage....they'll be foolish to try. A part of me hope they do, so I can get a good laugh.
Hindu CM in JK, will create more problems. There should only a Muslim CM in a muslim majority state.
Apparently a certain section of the population will boycott the elections. How much will that effect the representation and result of the election is the acid test. Those statistics will then define the BJP's victory as truly popular or hollow.
1) Were these votes won because Muslims in majority voted for the BJP or were they wont that the non-muslim vote was now focused on the BJP?
2) At the same time with economics, the BJP also brings with the hindutvawadi ideals. So not sure what point in terms of merit/demerit in communal politics was effected? This is just a case of a hardline party with better economic agenda being selected over the hard line party that did not have a good economic plan.
