I doubt that, lol. When NATO's article 5 was invoked on 9/11, everyone helped the US fight the Taliban in Afghanistan. Russia attacking would be way more serious and I'm sure that everyone would respond at a call for help as well.

Other than the US, the other NATO countries only sent token force or no force at all. Taliban is now more powerful than ever. Let's not forget SCO. Attack Russia, and you got China on your plate too.

I think the now extinct Soviet Union was sending its commandos into Pakistan and not US, UK, Iran etc.

They were the official govt of Afghanistan before the attack... And the US sent about 2/3 of the troops there, the rest were from other countries.

Well, if you use couple of brain cells then you will realise that altogether 120 countries were involved against the Soviet Union in the 1980s in Afghanistan. However, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was in the frontline and apart from Saudi Arabia and the United States, no one else dared spoke out against the Soviet occupation.

It was Pakistani Armed Forces who were fighting the Soviet war machine in Pakistan and also non-uniform Pakistani military personnel who were fighting as and alongside the Mujahideen in Afghanistan. Neither was the Soviet Union involved in aerial dog fights with Iranian or Chinese Air Forces but their birds were definitely being shot down by Pakistan Air Force and by Mujahideen with American supplied stinger missiles.

Do not flatter yourself. USSR collapsed because of internal reasons. Even the united strength of all Europe under the guidance of excellent German generals failed to defeat USSR.
In Russia, reforms are progressing in the right direction. But in the West they do not write about it, they write about Russia only bad things.
