Donald Trump turns the knife in, H-1B workers say deja vu

That colourful tag applies to Pakistanis as well who compete for the same IT jobs as Indians in the west. Funny how our curries are literally the same.
Upbringing, dear... It's just the upbringing.

tariffs for automobile is easy. A Toyota Camry cost $23000. Engine cost $2000. It is straight forward

How do you decide the value of "software" ? If IBM modifies a Linux distribution in India what is the value ?
Or if Cisco adds a feature for its router with software developers in India what is the value ?

FYI I have researched this topic a lot more than you ever will.

haha you are rude.
I don't have to decide the price. You are obviously from some NO MARKET socialist commie/fascist land. How can you be an American, or a person of the West, with a comment like you just made? Obviously you are not.

In a nation with a FREE MARKET, the market decides the price! The tariff is just a percentage of the price!

I will repeat the question:

Answer these questions

Who decides the value of the product ? Government or IBM or Cisco
If you leave it to the likes of IBM and Cisco they will minimize the tariffs

nopes, we don't put go-mutra and cow dung in our stuff. They are usually meat heavy. As far as the colorful tag, you should better check the origin of it in this thread.
Except for beef, a fridge in north India and Pakistan would have pretty much the same stuff, but sure, believe what you must.

I have Pakistani friends/coworkers here in Australia, they are not deluded. Similar context and challenges. The nature of digital comms makes people say things they probably don’t really mean (and for some it conversely brings out who they truly are deep down).

Obviously, in a free market, prices are set by the buyers and sellers not gov't.

Your concern is about price fixing.

I know how to deal with that. So must you since according to you, you know more than I ever will.

Surveys cited by FAO and USDA estimate 40% of the Indian population as being vegetarian. These surveys indicate that even Indians who do eat meat, do so infrequently, with less than 30% consuming it regularly, although the reasons are mainly cultural.

Now take the 15-20 % muslim/christian population out of the equation. Rest of "you" are what I wrote before, now since you compared it to Pakistan, here it is

  • Being vegetarian in Pakistan can be an utterly alientating experience
I’ll start with an anecdote that should seem unusual, but isn’t. It’s happened several times.

Going through the ‘Salads’ section of any major restaurant’s menu, I’ve learned to not be surprised at the presence of meat in every salad. Chicken Caesar salad. Thai beef salad. When meat isn’t in the name of the salad, it’s certainly there in the fine-print description underneath. A few days I asked my server if the chef can prepare a salad without meat. “No meat, just chicken?” he asked. No, not even chicken. My poor server did not have a script for people who stubbornly refuse to partake in any and all animal flesh.

So stop being delusional.

Covid virus 2: yaaah, about that...

So stop being delusional. We are not go-mutra, cow-dung nation.
So you sized the market using logic when talking about meat eaters in India vs Pakistan and grossly generalised when it comes to dung/pee indulgence.
More Indians (Hindus) are consuming non-veg every year.

Did you bother to see my profile pic, I usually use one-liners to end a useless argument/debate, some times I don't mean to but I have to, since there are so many indian trolls here. The fact is, we are not you and you are not us. So stop inferring that the west should look at us like we are the same. We might have some similarities but thats it, holistically we are totally different compared to you.

The myth of the Indian vegetarian nation
India is not a largely vegetarian country, and more people consume beef than previously estimated.
www.bbc.com

Well we are not going in the vegetarian direction, so don't know when you will catch up. Also there will still remain one differentiating factor and thats beef. The beef will remain between us and you.

I don’t think Indians want to be associated with Pakistanis or the vice versa. The subtleties get lost on westerners who don’t do their research and look at all brown people as the same.
Your using racist labels is phoney and sad since i have seen how these labels get applied to Pakistanis and Bangladeshis as much as they get applied to Indians. In your quest to be seen different, don’t jump to the extreme racist pole. It’s like a Nigerian yelling racist labels that target black people to a person from South Sudan, only because they don’t get along.

You have not addressed the simple examples I provided you

No it doesn't. What part of 70% H1B visas going to Indians you did not understand?

Na, we are meat eaters. We make Qourmas.

this is called "Cutting off the nose to spite the face"

Even with Trump's ban on H-1bs Indians will get jobs from outsourcing and h-1bs for those with advanced degrees from American universities
