DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN INDIA

Jana i think ur a journalist and i read some where here that you live in India.

Holy Cow i missed this information.
Damn i live in India and i dont know that :woot:

So dear Sajan kindly do let me know when did you read this :D

But your GK is very low regarding India. I think being a Srilankan I know more abt India than you knows (eventhough im not a journalist) escepally abt Tamil nadu. There is no seperatist movement going on in Tamil nadu. Just go and ask any India Tamil about this they will kick ur....

:) so howcome a Srilankan knows about India as compare to the one who lives in India ;)

I guess you need to read carefully no on says that at the moment it is going on there.

Well if ur talking abt LTTE, it has no support in India now and Indian Tamils hates us for killing Rajiv Gandhi.

OHhh are u from LTTE you said "Indian tamils hate us for killing Rajiv" ;)

. .
SA and Vinod thanks

I have some reading about what you said and fears of Tamils.

But i think it is not linked with measures taken in wake of Partion or pre-Partion.I read somewhere that it was there even in the 1930s.

. .
:what:
is there any difference between an ordinary Sri Lankan Tamil and otherwise ???

I don't know, perhaps Sajan himself could answer this.

Obviously, most of the Tamils in Northern Sri Lanka are LTTE supporters.

.
Did i miss something? Since when did Tamil Nadu have an insurgency??!?! That thing died down in the 50's itself.

.
:) so howcome a Srilankan knows about India as compare to the one who lives in India ;)
Dear i was in India for 14 yrs. I guess that period is enough for a person to learn anything abt the place he lives in.
OHhh are u from LTTE you said "Indian tamils hate us for killing Rajiv" ;)
Everyone have a belief that if ur a Sri lankan tamil ur a LTTE. But sorry Jana im not a member or LTTE or its supporter. And alll Srilankan Tamils are not supporters of LTTE.
:what:

Yes there are difference between us and them. I think an Indian tamil can easily find out a SriLankan tamil frm his tamil Pronunciation itself. ;)

I understood ur point and the Sarcasm in that.;) Everyone love their motherland even if its a hell to live in. But if ur are treated like a slave or a secondclass citizens in your own country and you are denied the basic rights of a citizen what will u do? I think you have the example of Bangladeshis. Fortunately Bangladeshis solved their prob in time. :what:
I personally dont have any prob with India becoz its like my second home now. And what ever i achieved in my life is from India only.
He was saying an ordinary Sri Lankand Tamil so i was asking is there such who are not ordianry

Everyone is an ordinary citizen other than "Politicians".:disagree:

Sajan,

Jana is a child.

Emotional.

Forgive her if she does not know that a Sri Lankan Tamil has difference with the Indian Tamil!

Here is some news about Srilanka before we come back to topic

Sri Lanka praises India for its consistent policy on Tamil issue

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka has praised India for its consistent policy on Tamil issue even as it noted that New Delhi had expressed concern on the question of "military solution" to the LTTE problem.

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama, talking to Daily Mirror Newspaper on Wednesday, said "they (India) have not expressed any concern on the abrogation (of the Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) with the LTTE), but on a military solution. On that we see eye to eye."

He lauded India for its consistent policy. "We are encouraged by their consistency", he said.

Asked if the Sri Lankan government was considering a ban on LTTE after doing away with the CFA, the minister said since the country had legislations to tackle the issue there was no immediate proposal to ban the LTTE.

"The banning (of LTTE) is a new dimension. It's already a terror organisation and we already have Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) as a legislative arm for us to deal with terrorism", Bogollagama said.

"We have the emergency laws. They (LTTE) are also banned in the countries that matter to us. We have the LTTE where we want them, but in the event that a situation arises in the future we can still look at it. I don't think it's there now, because we have enough other avenues to do that", he said.

"A ban would have to be viewed in the same way as the abrogation of the CFA where a deep wrong was corrected", he added.
