Does religion make Muslims more violent?

I agree on that....bonds and compassion among human beings are infinitely more important than any religion.
i am totally opposite.
problem is we all do not know our religion properly.
like half empty and that is causing problem. it can be true for any subjects

Across the ages, Christianity would still have its nose ahead.

Why across the ages, even in the past century.

But the last 50 years, Islam is the undisputed leader no doubt.

I was saying about recent times. Christianity is quite subdued now.

Then explain what you meant by "thats not reallly true".

There are pretty clear wordings in more than one religious text that specifically exhort killing and violence. Regardless of accompanying motivations or preconditions put forward as rules or edicts thereof.

You and I had a debate on this a few days ago. And you supported Hindu extremists' forceful conversion and associated violence on Indian minorities like the Sikhs, Christians and Muslims. If we take "Islamic Extremists" actions into account, which is, to turn other to follow Islam, how is it different than the Hindu extremist organizations like the BJP, Shiv Sena and RSS, who have killed thousands of innocent people belonging to Indian minorities, and now want to convert everyone in India to Hinduism by 2030?? Don't you think the world sees the Hindu extremism here too?

The President of the US, before leaving India highlight the issue of religions tolerance and respect in his speech, the POP had talked to your PM many times. Your minorities are scared like goats because of what's going on.

So why support human rights violations done by Hindus and condemn similar stuff done by Islamic extremists? No matter what the tactics may be, the outcome is the same, terror on other faith's followers due to religion......care to explain the hypocrisy?
Oh please, not again how many Minorities did hindus kill.
Hindus don't go around blowing themselves up around the world like one particular community does, the whole world knows, who does that.
President of Usa can say anything he likes, its not his country nor do we tolerate his meddling in our Internal affairs.
The same President of USA didn't speak a word in Saudi Arabia or other islamic nations he visited. So we know what he is made up of.Lecture people who don't attack about the need to be more liberal, but never even utter a word liberal, to people who are extremists.

Then why make an effort to understand religion at all? Why not totally disregard religion. If there won't any glass there is no question of it being half empty.

I am not saying you are, I am asking about your opinion with regards to this situation of forcing minorities to convert and the torture and killings that have been going on with Sikhs, Christians and Muslims?
Lolzzz
You speak as if conversions happen to hinduism only.
And if you want to bring in killings of minorities then let me remind you killings happen in every country, in some countries it is based on skin color and in others its based on religions. India is a safer place for minorities compared to its neighbors. India's population of muslims is equivalent to that of Pakistan.
And this should be another eye opener
Scared of ISIS, Iraqi brothers seek refuge in India

Btw are you a false flagger??

yes, humanity guided towards the idea of a no-troubles communist humanity, without the need of wars or oppression... a single belief system for all humans.

Very interesting.... This statistical study speaks entirely different story from what is commonly perceived.....
I have two more points that can concrete the belief of OP ......
1) How many % of followers of each religion involved in violence(terrorism)....?
2) How many % of followers of each religion justified the violence(terrorism) as a religious duty ...?

@Norwegian
Any study regarding above two points I made .......?

You don't need to be a UC Berkley Professor, some times there is no substitute for using your brain properly.
As I have said, do research and refute Professor's theory. That is how things work in academia. Taking cheap shots and making hollow claims don't cut nothing.

BTW, the work is fully described in his paper here: http://polisci.berkeley.edu/sites/default/files/people/u3833/IslamAndLargeScalePoliticalViolence.pdf. This is a peer reviewed publication. If you are eager to use your brain properly, I'll suggest you go through the work and identify weaknesses in the methodology, results, and conclusion. Hopefully we will take your words seriously after that.

Faith is required to overcome fear
And God's provide that faith
No civilization will survive without religion but I wish it does
