Hello members.

My question is does India need Ekranoplans like this in limited numbers?

They can carry large amount of troops at speed 5 to 6 times higher compared to speed of warships.

. .
Does any one in world has something like this???

. .
It doesn't serve any purpose for India, unless we're preparing to invade Sri Lanka or Indonesia.

.
This mascot has been dropped from Brazil India can have it too.

We need to ask the purpose for such
one is to transfer sailor etc. then there is no need, as that type need does not arise
Second is to transfer fuel, food etc, its can see that whether its economically, and by weight good, and needed?
Third is for special operations like amphibious ships, to transfer things, that can be seen and asked is it needed?

If we found some need and useful for Strategic or Tactical use the answer is yes, other wise no. ;)

.
Its not Ground Effect Vehicle.

NO its not. What is so special about Ground effect ? How is it superior to Bernoulli principle ? It is more efficient ? Does it provide more range ? better detection capability ?

All aircraft use the ground effect during take off.

. .
Not the forces, but some filthy rich can have it for false prestige or as a show off to GF/Wife!! Though there are some, but will not buy it for fear of media back lash!!

Militarily the problem with these was that they could be easily shot down. That's why the soviets shut down the project. Otherwise they're extremely efficient transport vehicles in terms of fuel and range.
