Would an apology help? Yes, of course it would especially those who suffered gravely.

But I personally don’t give a toss. The mass surrender was bigger than the apology.

I don’t know any common people who demands an apology.

But it’s a pass time of the Dhakaya chetona brigade.

Rest of the country wants a prosperous and brotherly relationship with Pakistan. Especially with Hinduvta on the rise. Hinduvta hasn’t been this menacing in my part of the country since Sufi Saint Shah Jalal rode into town!

Not even Sheikh Mujib wanted to break up Pakistan. How I do I know that? Just ask Khakeda Zia and her BNP mob. Zia declared independence, you know!

It matters to those who saw murder being done. It may not matter to you; you are able to sit back and enjoy the privileges of being a citizen of an independent country, because others lost their lives to gain you that privilege. I am talking about Bangladeshis, every one of them. It is so easy to talk smart talk about what the university represents, and what somebody else represents, and it will impress everyone with your keen insight, that cuts through sentiment and sees the reality. Yup, sure.

Anyone whos politically aware and living in Bangladesh, knows that.

If you cannot keep your wild ones in student organisations and fringe elements from political parties in order, whose fault is that? Those who are charged with the responsibility for keeping order in the land? Those sit several thousands of kilometres away, in the peace and comfortable conditions of a country that takes law and order seriously, and criticise conditions in the homeland?

Its a conspiracy theory that a nation try to influence another nation by many different means, including educational institutes? Thats something new i learned today.

How exactly do nations then influence eachother?

I have have no problem with the close relations with West Bengal, quite contrary as i would like us to be one nation under one flag. But i dont like our cultural bonds being used to fill the pockets of rest of India, especially now that some states have become anti-Bangladeshi. You know who they are.

The painful period of independence is in the past.

It is time to move on but we must not forget. The future is what we need to concentrate on and hindutva facism remains an existential crisis for all muslims in the subcontinent.

BD and PK has differing challenges but where interests align we should cooperate and forge strong bonds.

All said and done even the chetona mob dont consider PK as any sort of enemy. This group is an extremely small minority with oversize media reach. They are used for internal consumption but thankfully has zero policy impact.

I would simply ignore them, everyone else does except when these gullible rent-a-mob idiots can be used for some hackneyed soundbite.
