Nope, we had a conflict when Thailand protected Pol Pot, now is no more. We've never invaded Thailand, its French colony who did that, and Kam got lots of land from Thai during French colony times.

Islands in SCS(east sea) is not so important to VN while its very important to China, and our anti-ship missile is enough to protect our islands, we simply dont waste money there.

I never encourage countries such as Viet, Fino should keep a govt. department like MOD, because it is useless, money-eating, nothing-solved. if the army cannot defeat the enemy or really defense the country, even if the whole country is sold out to support the army, why you should have such an army? The conclusion is simple, making anything rather than supporting an necessary army.
Who are persuading Viet-like countries to have a more powerful army, strengthen their poor defense force? the evil boss behind them, not their people. The only value for Viet and others is to harass China when the evil boss is busy at something else.
Wise people and politician from Viet, Fino should seriously consider to please China at their most capacity. That's a much reasonable solution.

WTH?? Some people here are saying Vietnam should buy frigates/destroyers?? WTF? @Nihonjin1051 You as well? im dissapointed to hear you say such a thing to be honest. This is wayyy above what Vietnam can afford. This is the last thing they should be thinking about anyway. The submarines they have recently piurchased from Russia is more than okay to deal with other claimansts in the SCS like Taiwan, Philippines and other SEA countries, im not mentioning China because there is no way Vietnam is ever going to dstand a chance against them in any Naval conflict, even if Vietnam was to spend its whole GDP on defence. Its like wishing Bengladesh can defeat India in a naval confrontation(no disrespect to my Bengladeshi friends here.lol).

Vietnam should focus on improving the livelihood of its people. It already spends alot on defence as it is, asking for more might be detrimental for its own economic growth/living standards(even more so as it imports almost all of its critical weapons). I ddont understand why poor/backward countries are the ones to spend the most in defence, while the more prosperous ones spend rather less(as percentage of GDP), it should be the total opposite. Get the basics right first then other things will naturally come later. Countries should all know/hset their priorities right IMO.......JEEZ........

Sorry, Cambodian disagree what you talk about Phú Quốc, the last time that Cambodian entnered Koh Tral is 1975.
no Cambodian kings agreed this island belonged to Vietnam.
Even Chinese could have more rights over this island, as this island was first discovered and developed by Chinese.

Phú Quốc belong to Vietnam from time of Nguyễn Warlord. There is no disputed.

Taiwan invaded illegally in Itu Aba ( Ba Bình Island) in 1956 when Govt changed Bao Dai Emperor resigned and Ngo Dinh Diem taken a power and busy in South Vietnam.
