Do India's Space Program and Mars Mission Make Sense?

Haq's Musings: Can Superpoor India Become a Superpower?

What happened? Another bad day? :D

. . . .
What a cheap shot at an amazing science project. India's space program is a science and technology integrator which helps a poor nation to develop expertise and tools to beat that poverty. Without science and technology a nation of a billion people can not lift itself to become a sustainable and prospering economy. The jealousy has blinded some to see that without such investment in sciences, no nation can claim progress. Whether in space or in pharmaceuticals or in software, India has achieved where many others have failed.

The offending post has been removed folks. Do carry on and well done to India.
there was no need mate... one need to grow thick skin and not get offended by criticism. The only offensive bit is shameless plugging of own tv program not the article itself which is a legitimate point of view.

.
Till date makes no sense. India a poor, hungry, naked developing country cannot afford to do meaningless spave missions.

Heard during pre-historic verdic times, Hindustan has already send man in Mars.

.
The only thing to remember here is that we should never point out any mistakes India is making. The USSR had an even bigger space program the size of which Indians can only imagine. It really was the USSR that laid the foundations of all of these technological programs in India. But an average citizen in the USSR didn't have food to eat and there was misery everywhere except a few select cities. The Soviet state was extremely corrupt and oppressive. India is an ocean of misery with a a few islands of progress in it. Let us not distract them from any of their mistakes whether big or small.

Frankly, I don't care which country is trying to go to mars, as far as I'm concerned, going to mars alone awaste of resources! We have more than enough resources to go around for our needs here on planet earth, and yet, thanks to our greedy power and money hungry mega corporations, us as human beings are at each other's throats trying to hog it! why the heck would we wanna pollute another planet with our filth after spending hungreds of billions on trying to reach and colonize mars when we just simply have to change the way we think and live happily ever after on this planet!

Let's be serious for a moment here.

I wish for a combined settlement of Mars with people from South Asia, Central Asia, West Asia, Africa, Russia and South America.

It really was the USSR that laid the foundations of all of these technological programs in India.

Well, the space programs in India and Pakistan had American support initially. And then I think Pakistan decided to focus on military aims rather than a space program, and therefore now doesn't have a capacity to launch a ton-heavy satellite.

But an average citizen in the USSR didn't have food to eat and there was misery everywhere except a few select cities.

Proof, please.

The problems in this world are because of incorrect political systems. When a scientific and simpler political system is adopted we will see that among other things settlement of Mars is destiny.

Tandori Tikka house on mars is needed

Agreed,
