Bit rich coming from a Bangladeshi?

A grand total of roughly 3000 new cars sold in Bangladesh every year. For comparison in 2013, Audi sold 10000 new cars in India ,Mercedez sold 9000 new cars, BMW sold 8000 new cars and VW some 90,000. I haven't even mentioned the Japanese companies yet, so go on tell us more about the Bangladeshi second hand 90's Jap imports and how affluent they make you feel.
that made me giggle

The truth hurts bud. I know the average size of new cars in India. Compared to the size of the market -on average Bangladeshi buyers are simply more discerning about the type or size of car than in India. Remnants of the Maruti 800 mentality which simply couldn't sell in Bangladesh other than Taxi fleets (who also abandoned it with disdain after a year). What passes for mid-size cars in Bangladesh often is considered luxury in India. Talking about the avg. car costing ten lakh rupees - i.e. Honda City, Hyundai Verna (accent in US), Toyota Corolla Altis, these cars are the minimum size for new Bangladesh market vehicles. Cars in the i10 class simply won't sell here but they sell quite briskly in the Indian market from what I've seen.

The truth is that the Indian car buyer is simply more 'kanjoos' and therefore companies like Toyota have to downgrade components to a cheaper level before selling in India. Sometimes companies like Toyota don't even launch the same car in India as in the rest of Asia because they fear Indian car buyers are too kanjoos to buy it. Case in point the Toyota Vios which was launched for the rest of Asia was considered too expensive for India - so TKM launched the Toyota Corolla Altis (which is actually a downgraded Tercel/Yaris and not a Corolla at all).

And bringing up BMW, Audi and MBZ is BS because that's not what most of the Indian populace buys, there're plenty of those in Bangladesh too for the size of the market. Let's leave those out of the equation.

Have you ever been to Dhaka? There are plenty of luxury cars on the road here in spite of the 300% tax.

Yes I have, about a dozen times, as recent as March 2014. Maybe its you who needs to revisit India, you are stuck in the 90's. Luxury cars in Dhaka is very rare, unless you consider second hand refurbed Toyota Mark X as luxury.

LMAO @ the "more discerning" bongolodesheee car buyer. Reconditioned i.e used and in some cases, abused, Japanese vehicles are nothing; absolutely NOTHING to be proud of. It just goes to show that the swampland, like many other African, Caribbean, and a handful of insignificant Asian markets (like bd), are nothing but massive dumping grounds for discarded Japanese products.

.
No there isn't. Second tier cities in India have better airports than the one in Dhaka.

Don't worry. Once we kick out the Indian dalals out of here then you'll see a new airport in less than four years rivaling pretty much anything you have...

.
Excuses excuses. Why am I not surprised.

I'll take up bd citizenship if you can build a terminal even close to Bombay's terminal 2. Hah!

Now you're talking like a Bhartiya fool.

I tell you what, buying JDM re-conditioned is an option for middle income people. An option . Nothing else. Doesn't mean that there are not new cars sold in Dhaka. In fact there are plenty of new cars being sold. I don't know where Roybot got his figures but those sound like BS to me. I tell you what you stay with your third-rate tiny kanjoosy hatchbacks and leave us the f*ck alone. Our choices are different that's all. Waste of my freakin' time with a bunch of juveniles.

And just to refute some of the idiotic Indian posts here's a few images of the real Dhaka. Not for you juveniles but for those with saner brains,

And last but not not least a mall being built which rivals most of your malls.

Don't wish for things - they have a habit of coming true. Bombay's Terminal 2 is not the second coming of Christ. It doesn't even rank in the top 40 in the world's rankings.

 cute

I wonder why a post consisting of nothing but the truth gets your panties (admittedly, manufactured in bd - congrats!) in a massive twist? The fact remains that most vehicles sold in the swampland are second/third/and so on-hand. Your choices are different? Haha - the average bd consumer doesn't have much of a choice other than pouring his/her life savings into the purchase of a used/discarded Japanese vehicle.

LMAO enough about JFP - it's a glorified bd "shopping complex" with shitty "brands", bad lighting, and tacky surface textures. It's like a sized-up version of a third rate tier 3 city shopping centre.

Haha wait and watch. In the meantime, if you manage to come up with anything even remotely close to T2, I'll leave the country.

Awww why didn't you ask. And my bad I understated Bangladesh's new car sales figure.

And this market is booming, with 4,500 brand new cars sold in 2010 compared to 3,000 in 2009 and 2,050 in 2008. And surprise in the brands ranking: Mitsusbishi grabs a mammoth 45% of the tiny market with 2,025 units, followed by Toyota at 945 and 21% and Nissan at 585 and 13%. Could the Mitsubishi Pajero lead the models ranking while the Corolla is everywhere on the roads?

The explanation is simple: on top of the 4,500 new cars imported in Bangladesh in 2010, there were 25,500 'reconditioned' imported vehicles sold that year, down from 26,350 in 2009. These came mostly from Japan and potentially included lots of Toyotas, being the source of most cars on Bengali roads. It is to be noticed that sales of reconditioned vehicles were only 8,500 in 2006, up to 10,244 in 2007 and 14,942 in 2008.

Now tell us more about the wealth that you lots have accumulated by making undergarments for the world in your little sweatshops.

This kind of project has to be politically correct in Bangldesh. Hasina wanted to build a 7 billion dollar air port but could not do it due to stiff resistance from opposition. Our politicians are worse yet when it comes to the priority between latrine and airport they will certainly choose latrine. I hope you understand our limitations.

Yeah Bangladesh wanted to build the world's most expensive airport , not surprised it didn't take off. And the latrines you guys have, you can thank WHO, UN and the World Bank for that.

Yet, not nearly enough. It's funny when bdshees talk about latrines. I feel like they choose not to look at themselves whilst talking about this most pressing of problems.

Yeah either that or Indians are crossing the border to take a dump in the "lovely" Gulshan Lake in Dhaka, which has a layer of human feces floating on the surface any time of the day all year round.

Clearly, most of them live in a world of delusion, and happily so.

We thank everybody man. Everybody. Thanks GOD. Besides the lady who refused to go to paddy field anymore unlike India.
