I designed the frame to put the solar panels by myself because the readymade ones were expensive and it was fun make it. Took me 3 days to cut, drill and screw them together and it costs ₹ 1200 ($17) + time & energy.
Solar Panels were 375W Mono-Christalline 24V (X2 750W total) they have higher efficiency than Poly they cost me ₹23000 ($310), and a Solar inverter(PWM) 1.5KVA, although I recommend MPPT inverters they're expensive but more efficient. That inverter cost me ₹9300($125).
Batteries 150Ah, 12V (X2) Lead acid Tubular C-10 at ₹24500 ($330)
DC MCB 40A cost ₹1600 ($22)
DC cable 20m with connector cost ₹2750 ($37)
I had to make a few changes to the wiring in my house, and I bought a Changeover switch it's very cheap, and made some changes to DB box wiring. All in all, it took 2 days to install the whole set up.
With a total cost of ₹62350 ($840) + 5 days of time. I installed it last year during the lockdown.
Where I live it rains for 7 months straight and my guesstimate, it recieves only 4 hours of sun on Sunny days due to shade from coconut trees around, and on an average it gives me 1.5KWh a day and gives me 2.3KWh on peak days. I can run most of the load in my house with the 1.5KVA inverter like 0.5KW pump, Fridge, and lights. AC is connected to the mains.
