Diwali or not, India can't boycott Chinese goods

Makes sense...but the issue is that Apple and Samsung has a higher brand value when your suggested products will compete with them. So whoever is spending 600 dollar, he might opt for Apple iPhone and pay $100 extra for it.

Agree, but the important thing is to make the number of those "whoever is spending 600" mean something. In 2015, Apple sold $1 billion in India, but it sold $58 billion in greater China.

Yes, Apple managed to sell $58 billion worth of products in China which is their largest market outside North America,
434 million smart phones were sold in China in 2015.
400 million smart phones have been sold in China in the first 3 quarters of 2016(Jan-Sep).
In Q3 2016, the market share of Apple shrank to 9%.

Having said that, I understand China is till their most important market outside US.
11 million iPhones were sold in Q3.
This market is so important for any high-end phones that Apple is continuing opening up new official stores around China though having zero official store even in india's biggest city which is supposed to have a lot of middle-class residents.

How big is China's smart phone market?
Let's forget those shining number of the so-called emerging markets.

Q3 2016
World: 363 million smart phones
China: 123 million smart phones

I just bought 2 LeEco phones on their flash sale yesterday, for $299 each after $100 discount. I think it is Le Pro 3. Never used their phone before, hope they work OK. It seems LeEco's phones are not selling well in China. :(

i have said (you should hear me!), they are way more famous for their smart TV which sells one million in September alone. But their phones? Mediocre! Better to buy Mi phones and One Plus.

I's rather buy their smart bike!

I bought their Max65 a while ago, it worked out nicely. Tried to buy their new uMax 85 to replace my old Panasonic plasma yesterday on their flash sale, but it was sold out in 3 freaking minutes. So I decided to buy their phones to try out, as it seemed to be a good deal. We will see.

They said they have servers in the US. I can watch just about all Chinese contents, including all live channels of CCTV. LeEco is trying to go big in the US, and they bought Vizio a few months back, the No 1 TV brand by volume.

LeEco China provides very good streaming services...
Their online soapie 太子妃升职记 attracted 3 billion views.....

This one, air in LeEco and some other websites, attracted 13 billion views in LeEco alone

The TV came with one year membership, and wife is willing to pay $80 for the next year. I don't watch Chinese soapies that much. The last one I watched was 琅琊榜, maybe 2/3 of it. I only use 小米盒子 to watch CCTV 13 or documentary.

If one does not bother the one minute ad per video, just watch them for free in China.
All Chinese and American soapies can be watched in China for free, I mean legally.
But a membership is needed if one wants to watch 4k and ad-free.

Nice! I love Huawei commercial you posted a few day ago. Listened to all versions I could find, including those by Malaysia and Vietnamese groups. :cheesy:

American contents are blocked here though, for most part. Thanks for the tip, will convince wife to go free route. :yahoo:
