Discussion with Stranded Biharis in Dhaka's Geneva camp

There are millions of illegal bangalis in Pakistan, if these people wanted, they could have come. btw after Afghans, we need to throw out all illegal bangalis from Pakistan, they are a major security threat.
This is totally wrong, only those people managed to come who got money to pay the brokers or someone in West Pakistan to approach or finance them like my mother, father and their families. My grandfather and uncles were killed for being loyal to Pakistan. There were people who did not want to leave their parents behind and got stuck there. The Generation at that time, all wanted to come to Pakistan but did not have resources. I can still feel the pain in the eyes when my Mom tells us the stories of war and migration, how her brothers and father were taken from their home and killed.

Loyal to Pakistan and they are treated like dogs. I think we can welcome them and send back Afghan refugees.
47 was different situation ,they are free to practice their faith, their will be no religious discrimination against them, they have no roots over here, let them stay and contribute to Banglaland.Kudos

It is a fact that Bangladeshis treat Biharis very poorly and Biharis are perceived as inferior too. After 1971 war Biharis were killed in large numbers, even during the war for being loyal to Pakistan. GOP should look to help these Biharis and bring them to Pakistan. They are better than Afghan refugees and will also serve the country which will make us proud.
@django ,@Arsalan ,@Moonlight ...

Not as easy as it sounds unless our govt is willing to help them, unfortunately this is not even a topic of discussion here.
What prevents Pakistan to take them ?

I would presume that this should be a real vote winner for whichever Pakistani political party makes it happen and/or popularity winner for Pakistan Army to bring back 'the patriots' as it were ?

Is it a race issue?

I have seen members discussing about Stranded Pakistanis . This report portrays real picture of their current situation. Yes They Vote, They get education but They don't get passport and Government Jobs. However, Those who are involved in business live a decent life outside of Geneva Camp

No more Pakistani they have already given Bangladesh nationality soon they might able to get govt job but other job they are getting so no problem. Bangladesh is much more successful and peaceful country then India Pakistan. We need to move ahead forgetting past grudges.

So what about the Army?

The Army can come in as white knight and bring back those who "fought for Pakistan". I should think it can be a massive PR win for Pakistan Army ?

Dude the ruling is for the people who want to be Bangladeshi citizen and rightly so. They were given opportunity since 1972 to accept BD citizenship and move on but they did not.

Actually, it applies to everyone in the camps, if they were born after the 1971 war, whatever their beliefs:

"The Supreme Court cited its previous decisions to stress that one who applied for repatriation to Pakistan, or "even a diehard pro-Pakistani born in this country is entitled to be citizen of Bangladesh if he fulfills the requirements under Article 2 and is not disqualified under clause (1) of Article 2B." 3"

Well, all of them are not necessarily from Bihar, even though they are collectively called Biharis... They are more like the Mohajirs in Pakistan...

The community also includes some from present-day Pakistan, Punjabis, Baloch, Pathans etc....

You sure bro from what I know all West Pakistanis went back, Biharis were left behind, please do share any links in this regards, would like to know further , Regards

From what I have read, only the military personnel and senior civil servants were able to go back, the rest had to stay. About the term Bihari, here is a quote from a Bihari herself,

"Bihari was a loose term used for people who came from Uttar Pradesh, Poona, Maharshtra, for Punjabis, Pathans. Every non-Bengali was a Bihari.”

Those are BD laws, the point is what has Pakistan done for the people who fought for them and risked everything.
You guys had no problem to bring back the 93000 and i am sure none of them spent their own money to return back....it should not have been a problem for Pakistan to take biharis to Pakistan at that time, but i guess there was no will for that from Pakistan.
