The people had completely swarmed around the white van. Imagine if that were you in the van and you were the diplomat inside surrounded by hundreds of angry Egyptians and you need to get out of there alive.
Well from the drivers point of the view he did what he had to do. Things can't always be done the right away.
You think if the driver had asked those people nicely to move and let them leave in peace would have worked? No. The angry mob would have probably gave those guys the Mogadishu treatment

It is US Embassy white car. However, it says it was stolen in order to use Anti-American protests. No idea who is specific driver.
Second video- riders on horse/camels, they are pro-Mubarak to clear up protesters.
