Difference Between Punjabi spoken in Pakistan and India

@HappinessMark!

I don't really give for your Seraiki nationalism. You're entitled to your beliefs and you're right that it is difficult for a standard Punjabi speaker from Lahore or Amritsar to understand Seraiki but the same applies to Pothohari and Pahari dialects up north. That's because the dialect is very localized and not spoken much elsewhere save for diaspora Seraiki speakers.

Bro, you hold your belief and we ours...
Saraiki is the fourth most widely spoken language in Pakistan after Punjabi, Pashto, and Sindhi; and within Punjab Province it is one of the two major languages. Saraiki is ranked 52nd largest language of the world. I remeber that it was in earlier 3rd biggest in Pakistan it was 14% and Sindhi was 15%...but in recent census it's gone down...

I don't need to prove, but 13.5 million Sarikis think it is different...Interestingly that these punjabi and Sarikis are so rival as noted in 65 years that they would hardly make intermarriages, believe me (If they are same, then it would interesting)

but they are no such majority...and Sarikies are being punished when They were having their a big independent state in British india (Bahwalpur) throughout the British rule and before...but this was annexed with Punjab....Sarikies have 17% literacy rate whilst upper Punjab has 68 % or more (I don't remember exactly)...mostly development are on upper Punajb side...
This is the reason why Southern Punjab due to lack of literacay rate and poverty and oppression is big terrorists factory...

After seeing the prejudice of media(DAWN etc), I would not mind if they don't accept Sarikies rights then it should be a different country (sometimes I think after seeing their bigotness when they say that administrative units whilst many who are less than Sarikies have already their provinces on language base...MORONS)...
May Allah bless pakistan and make my fellow countrymen to accept others rights as well like they enjoy for themselves...otherwise many BD are already on their way :( :pakistan:

Only our rivals have to seee through the hole they have left for 65 years and they would come to fill the gap (sadly)...

I'm not even Pakistani so I could care less about a few Seraiki nationalists. The fact is Seraiki is basically Punjabi with a heavy Sindhi influence.

I hardly doubt 13.5 million Seraiki speakers are nationalists. Anyways, I can't say much about Lahore and its dealings with Southern Punjab. Not my area of expertise.

For a hindko speaker, Sariaki is 99.9 % same as hindko

He sounds like somewhat similar to my Aunt (Tai).....she's from Anupgarh,Rajasthan.Although she speaks proper Punjabi with us but when she has family visiting her she speaks in her own dialect.

Other than few words I was able to understand most of the stuff....so it's not really that different from Punjabi.

Abd the main question is can Pakistanis read/write punjabi language? Gurmukhi I.e

yea Pakistani punjabis can read and write punjabi language...what sort of idiotic question is this?....ofcourse 50,60 percent population of Pakistan is punjabi...that is around 90 million punjabis........in your india you got only 2 percent punjabi population....

Pakistani punjabis read and write punjabi in our own urdu/arabic dialect......

any one who can interact in punjabi language can read and right it...just like writing punjabi in roman urdu....

the sikhs in Pakistan can read and write in gurmukhi.......muslims are not interested in gurmukhi and other hinduish letters and dialects.

you are from tamil nadu....do u have anything to do with punjabi even remotely?

I dont know anything but let's just conclude that whatever the differences, Pakistani is better @ the end of the day, period.

The Punjabi spoken in Pakistan is quite diverse itself.

WTH.... what this video is doing here? :D.... These are all my teachers of school and college days and it's Pakistani school in Qatar

Thanks God Indian Punjab is separated from Pakistan :D
Indian Punjabis have beaten 46% of Punjabis of Pakistan side, not even identifying Sarikies as a separate langauge...
At least Punjabis at Pakistan knows that it is different and they would not go for intermarriages...You need to see the voilent movement on Sariki to open your eyes at least please!

I've got one of my close friend and colleage (very nice) as hindko speaking and they would be incidently asking translation of Sarikies....Interestingly someone is saying it 99.9% Sariki...Yes it is true that Hinko person can speak Sariki but Punjabi (who has not listen in childhood would die but can not produce certain voices...)

All sindhi, Punjabi and Sariki, Hindko are Aryan languages and have similarities but they have distinctions if you recognisse or not...

Come on hindi and urdu problem in India is still not settled and still in open problems on these language, still they are very much close but have different identification....

When from years and Sariki movement is seen on Youtube

some one saying Punjabis 50-60% needs to be corrected..

We need to check the demographic distribution and language distribution in census, it is the recent census data of Pakistan:

As of 2009, the Punjabi population dominates with 78.7 million (44.15%), followed by 27.2 million (15.42%) Pashtuns, 24.8 million (14.1%) Sindhis, 14.8 million (10.53%) Seraikis, 13.3 million (7.57%) Muhajirs and 6.3 million (3.57%) Balochs. The remaining 11.1 million (4.66%) belong to various ethnic minorities.[226] There is also a large worldwide Pakistani diaspora, numbering over seven million.[227]

How close bold figures are whilss they can have provinces but Seraikis can not have...SHAME

those who still thinks sariki are exactly the same then they need to see the Gilanis speeches, Imran khan parties speeches in favor of Sarikiestan (Shah mahmood Qureshi), MQM speeches, Maulna fazalur Rehman speeches...All parties are in favor of Sarikistan province, but Punjab ruler Nawaz Sharif idiot would dieing and diplomatically going...Those who says that PPP is getting voting bank...shame to them who thinks like that, as by making province they are making happy 11% of Sarikis and making annoyed (rather death to prejudiced Pakistanis punjabis) 46%...So is this making sense....

I can not understand when all Pakistans parties and their constituion accepted Sarikie as a separate language what's wrong with other side of Punjab...Yes we know that most language in this area are getting more close to each other as we use more hindi/urdu word in our native languages...but if we put pure sariki language, It would be hard to decipher even to sarikis...
