Did PAF Pilots Carry Out UAE AF Strikes in Libya?

We haven't bombed another country.

It is NOT even clear if pilots were indeed Pakistanis. IF (the biggest if out there) they were, then they did what any global allies would do. They attacked militants positions which are NOT state but rather threaten Islamic Civilization and its peoples by civil war/civil strife from Afghanistan, to Pakistan..from Iraq to Syria..to Libya, Nigeria and so on.

These ignorant "jihadists" present us with unique problem to our mega, global civilizational existence..and these ignorant fucks are used by other states to harm us too.

As U.S withdraws from Afghanistan..Inshallah we'll fix our problem in Pakistan..
We don't need to fight other peoples battles, Irrespective of religion. Fight to protect the country where you're from. Thats what an army is for. Not to fight other peoples battles.

Ah! A Bollywood fan, what? You've already been conquered!! No need of sending planes. You've been bombed by Bollywood already!!
What point are you trying to prove? Yes most Pakistani's enjoy bollywood movies. Theres nothing wrong with that. But when it comes to National pride, We're certainly not conquered by India. You and Your army knows well what our army is capable of. Lets instead focus on trying to improve the life's of both our countries secure the borders and flourish, rather than chest thump on who is mightier. Shall we?

.
Pakistani Pilots are in UAE Air Force as Instructors. UAE has a lot of competent Pilots who are quite capable of making this raid in Libya. Unless anyone has rock solid evidence which can be shared, it is not good to implicate Pakistani Pilots in this regard.

Pakistani pilot deal linked to US block on UAE technology release
Source:
00:00 24 Mar 1999
Plans by the United Arab Emirates air force to contract up to 200 Pakistan air force fighter pilots to fly F-16D Block 60 fighters it has ordered from Lockheed Martin are at the heart of the US Government's decision to block the release of sensitive technology to the Gulf state, say sources close to the deal.

The UAE needs experienced pilots for training and operation of 80 new fighters it plans to buy from Lockheed Martin and 63 new Dassault Mirage 2000-9 fighters purchased from France.

The USA and the UAE have been in protracted talks over the acquisition of the advanced Block 60 version of the F-16 since May last year, when the UAE selected the US-built fighter over the Dassault Rafale (below). Negotiations have stalled over Washington's refusal to release software source coding for the new generation Northrop Grumman APG-68 ABR radar for the Block 60, despite a UAE commitment to fund the radar's development as launch customer for the latest variant of the fighter.

Earlier this month, it appeared that the radar issue had been resolved, but that the transfer of source codes for the electronic warfare system were under the USA's export controls spotlight (Flight International, 10-17 March).

Further problems have emerged over US reluctance to allow Pakistani pilots to fly the aircraft and so gain access to its latest generation active array radar and electronic warfare technology.

The US Government has been at odds with Pakistan since Congress slapped an arms ban onIslamabad for its moves to develop nuclear weapons. The action resulted in the USA blocking delivery of 28 F-16A/Bs.

If the technology is not released under the Block 60 purchase, the UAE has said it will be forced to reopen the fighter competition.

Sources close to the Gulf state say a UAE delegation will hold up to two months of detailed talks with the US Department of Defense in Washington DC, starting on 15 April, to resolve the issue. "We are still studying the deal with our [US] friends," says Lt Gen Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chief of staff of the UAE armed forces. "We have asked for certain requirements. If they are not met, then the UAE can go for other options."

Partly because of such statements, speculation was growing at the show that the UAE wants to evaluate the Eurofighter Typhoon and look again at the Dassault Rafale. British Aerospace originally provided the UAE with information on the Eurofighter but says it did not bid formally.

The article proves the fact that since UAE went ahead to purchase the Block-60s and PAF was released the Block-52s and Pakistani pilots were contracted by the UAE, hence all falls into place as no doubt there are PAF pilots associated with Dessert Falcons.

Considering the number of Pakistanis serving in Arab forces, it isn't far fetched of an idea at all. However, I have serious doubts that any Pakistani national was involved, unless they got permission from Pakistan.
with no intention of derailing the subject, I will like to add that Pakistani mercenaries diligently served the crown of Bahrain in crushing its Arab spring. the locals blamed them shooting at protesters and medics. there were even pictures of Pakistani mercenaries from army and police with their Pakistani IDs that were caught by the locals.

I wont be surprised if PAF pilots be doing the similar things in service to their Arab employers. money is good and is halal as well. Although I would really wish that they dont get involved in the Arab civil war.

1. My parents told me to give respect to everybody who is older than me. Rasool Allah (PBUH) also said to give respect to the older and be kind to the younger.

2. Pakistan Air Force pilots have been deputed to friendly countries, and they have been taking part in military operations. For instance, PAF pilots have fought against Israeli air force in 1967 and 73.
Syed Ali Saheb.
I wont quote my sources but PAF staff are not allowed within a mile of the Desert falcons. The tech on the airbase is such that no unauthorised person can enter any part of it without the security being informed. To the best of the knowledge of the sourcePAF pilots were allowed on the M2K9s but never on the desert Falcons. Time of the conversation was a year ago.

You are right Araz. Now that you have pointed out, I remember it has been discussed or mentioned in some older thread on this very forum. This should effectively conclude the discussion on this thread.

Pakistani pilots are top class, allowing them to fly or train with other air forces allows them to utilise latest technology and become accustomed to it, whilst passing on our experience to other allied states

If Pakistanis indeed took part in these missions, it would raise several serious questions:
1. Were these PAF's serving pilots on deputation with UAE Air Force? Or retired officers on contract? If they were on deputation, did they seek permission from Pakistani government to accept these missions?
2. Will such missions drag Pakistan into ongoing Middle East conflicts and hurt Pakistan's interests in the region?
3. Will those targeted seek revenge against Pakistanis?

Fantastically wild claims from a personal blog, unsupported by any links or evidence, and virtually certain to be false.

What claims? The blogger wrote: If Pakistanis indeed took part in these missions, it would raise several serious questions:

An assumption is made, based on which, questions are asked.

The points raised are very likely mischievously intended. This is a troll thread, nothing more.

Haq's Musings: Did Pakistan Pilots Carry Out UAE AF Air Strikes in Libya?

UAE fighter jets flying from bases in Egypt carried out airstrikes in Libya a week ago, according to US media reports. Question: Did Pakistani pilots working for UAE participate in these missions?

Targets were hit in the Libyan capital of Tripoli secretly without without informing the Obama administration beforehand. The first wave of airstrikes hit positions in Tripoli controlled by insurgent militias, including a small weapons depot. The second wave targeted rocket launchers and military vehicles owned by militias, the New York Timesreports.

UAE Air Force F-16E Block 60
It is widely known that the vast majority of pilots working for the UAE Air Force are Pakistanis. The involvement of Pakistan Air Force in UAE began in 1970s with a training mission in the Gulf nation. Some of the serving PAF officersare on deputation, but most are on civilian contracts with the Air Force Headquarters in Abu Dhabi. Officers of other nationalities have also trained UAE pilots, among them Moroccans, Canadians, Jordanians, and South Africans.

After 1998 US-sanctions on Pakistan after its nuclear tests, the United States objected to plans by the United Arab Emirates air force to contract up to 200 Pakistan air force fighter pilots to fly F-16D Block 60 fighters it had ordered from Lockheed Martin. The deal was significantly delayed as UAE threatened to re-open the fighter competition to choose alternate suppliers. It was eventually resolved and the US agreed to deliver the purchased F-16s to UAE.

If Pakistanis indeed took part in these missions, it would raise several serious questions:

1. Were these PAF's serving pilots on deputation with UAE Air Force? Or retired officers on contract? If they were on deputation, did they seek permission from Pakistani government to accept these missions?

Haq's Musings: Did Pakistan Pilots Carry Out UAE AF Air Strikes in Libya?

what kind of craziness is this, why Pakistani pilots have to be involved in every muslim country. Doesn't UAE has pilots, how hard is it to train their own pilots to do the strikes. This is getting to too damn stupid to see a thread going on about Pakistani pilots doing strike for some xyz country. What kind is wisdom had God given to Pakistani people that they proudly claim other's bad action as their own....geee this is pure and utter stupidity.

Its about time you start claiming Heroshima nuclear explosion as yours too

So, considering what has been said thus far, it becomes clear that the Arabs are quite incapable of flying sophisticated planes or even fight a proper ground battle.

But Pakistanis can. So logically speaking, Pakistanis aren't of Arab origin as many of them claim! QED!

Secondly, if UAE buys the Rafales instead of the F-16s, then they would probably request the Indian Air Force for help to fly the planes because of the reason as mentioned in line 1 above! 8-)
On the contrary the Arabs of UAE air force are manning their own planes and flying them. The pilots are UAE nationals.
