For a typical, nationalist and religious nut job (aka Bhakt) there exists an alternate universe where India has not lost any battles or wars, ever.

Indian (RSS/Hindutva) political / social leadership has over the course of last 6-7 years re-written their entire history for popular consumption (in which historical 'hindutva' leadership won wars against the invaders, not lost them) via movies and plays, they have re-named their cities etc.

So yeh, whenever such an incident occurs which questions their version of reality, they put forward such non-sensical ideas. They turned a falling blob of metal into an F-16... these are still human beings with faces. =)
