Before making tall claims pls go through neutral sources.....u came for Kashmir and had almost lost lahore, if international community had not forced india to come back, lahore would had been given to the state of punjab......what about ur tank regiments in asal uttar and basantar???:azn:, ur army lost more than 156 tanks against just 20 indian tanks lost by indian army......:woot:.....6 armoured regiments were thrashed by indian infantry and 2 armoured brigades8-)......and again a country which attain its objective of driving enemy forces away from its target and gaining land on the way is always said to be victorious:devil:, again indians are the best!!!:chilli:

No they cannot. Air force will wreck them. Modern warfare is not about numbers but training, tactics and co-operation between all three arms of the military. Having a huge army is worthless if the army lacks training, discipline, motivation and leadership.

Refer to Indian history, small number of invaders defeated huge number of north Indian army.

Training the present number is one thing and training 20-30 million or 600 million is another.
Everybody knows how to hide, 20-30 million soldiers would create havoc in hearts of the enemy, the overwhelming strength and support of airforce, navy on way would be a sure victory........ Soviets took on the mighty german army, they were said to be the best army during the world war 2, they had the best tech during the war, what happened then they lost to the strength of Soviet soldiers......quantity is a quality itself.....

20-30 million strong army will starve to death without rations and a logistics line. Never mind critical factors like training, discipline, arming, equipping with communication sets etc. Who is going to lead them?

Soviets lost 20 million men to the German offensive and managed to push back Germans because the Germans were fighting a 2 front war against a dozen countries single-handed. If the americans were not bombing german factories then russians would have lost twice that number of people.

And world war was over 70 years ago. Technology has evolved and situations has changed.

Military counts everything from army, navy, air force.

Available manpower is an academic statistic. In case of war India cannot raise an army of 600 million. Who is going to train, equip and arm 600 million people?

Private companies like Godrej, Mahindras, L&T to train workers for defence manufacturing - The Economic Times
By Manu Pubby, ET Bureau | 12 Aug, 2015, 05.55AM IST

While major employment opportunities are present in the sector, a huge challenge being faced is the lack of availability of engineers as well as skilled workers.

NEW DELHI: Struggling to find skilled manpower for the specialised field of defence manufacturing that is expected to take off exponentially in the coming decade, major private sector players have joined hands to create a skills council that aims to train over 1.5 lakh people in the strategic manufacturing sector.

A special Strategic Manufacturing Skills Council (SMSC) is being set up with key private sector players, including Godrej, Mahindras, L&T, Bharat Forge and the Tatas, being brought together by the CII to train and certify workers at all levels, with the support of the government. The SMSC, that will also certify 200 training institute and 3,320 trainers, will be chaired by Udayant Malhotra, managing director, Dynamatic Tech, and will have representatives from the defence and shipping ministries. The target is to train at least 1.5 lakh people within a decade.

The CII has identified four major sectors for the SMSC — defence equipment manufacturing, ship building and repair, homeland security equipment and firefighting equipment. "The sector provides employment to about 12 lakh people and is expected to reach 30.5 lakh over the next 10 years. India will need 18.5 lakh technologically/highly skilled, skilled and semi-skilled people within the next decade to join the strategic manufacturing industry," a CII official told ET.

While major employment opportunities are present in the sector, a huge challenge being faced is the lack of availability of engineers as well as skilled workers as the Make in India policy results in major projects and manufacturing opportunities.

"The demand far exceeds the availability and if the sector grows with increased dependence on indigenous manufacturing vis a vis imports, the gap is likely to widen which will lead to a shrinking recruitment pool," the CII official said.

The SMSC, CII officials said, will identify skill gaps and frame occupational standards. "The SMSC will set benchmarks for determining the skills standards for the existing workforce and new entrants, creating standardized curriculums and benchmarks for training and developing career pathways for the existing workforce," the CII official said.

Indian ODI cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a honorary Lieutenant Colonel, today parachuted from an AN-32 transport aircraft from 1,250 feet, successfully completing his first jump as part of his training with the elite Para regiment of the Indian Army.

Dhoni, who has been undergoing training at the Paratroopers Training School (PTS) since August 6, jumped with a canopy static line parachute from the aircraft and touched down at the Malpura dropping zone near Agra, Defence sources said.

He has to undertake four more jumps from 10,000 feet, including one at night, to be a qualified parajumper.

The World Cup-winning Indian captain is undergoing a two-week training for para jumping.
Dhoni and Olympic shooting champion Abhinav Bindra were conferred the honorary Lt Colonel rank in September, 2011.

Sachin Tendulkar is also an honorary Group Captain in the IAF.
