DG ISPR Press Conference after detailed Verdict in Gen. Musharraf (R) case

What makes you think that Trump is not a "civilian" dictator? He is worse!

If he was a "dictator" or had any power, Clintons would have been in prison at min. The PO in america has more power within american than trump. Forget about the outside world.

Law minister says Musharraf case judge 'unfit' for any judicial office

The Pakistani government is seeking to oust the leader of a three-judge panel that handed a sentence to the country's former President Pervez Musharraf citing a violation of judicial conduct.

According to Law Minister Farogh Naseem, the judge in question, Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth, has breached a code of conduct by issuing an order stipulating that Musharraf's body should hang in public for three days, should he die before the execution of the death sentence.

Naseem emphasised that Seth is unfit to be a judge of "any high court or the Supreme Court".

On Tuesday, a special court convened to try the former president sentenced Musharraf to death, after analysing complaints, records, arguments and facts in the case for three months.

Former President of Pakistan and former military leader General Pervez Musharraf was found guilty of treason in a drawn-out case. He is currently under self-imposed exile in Dubai seeking medical treatment.

Musharraf seized power from then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif through a military coup on 12 October 1999, when the latter reportedly intended to oust him from the post of the army chief.

Musharraf led a military-dominated government as army chief until 2007. He nominated himself as Pakistan’s 10th president on 20 June 2001, and secured himself in that position till 18 August 2008, through a controversial referendum held on 1 May 2002.

He was forced out of office and threatened with impeachment. Musharraf became Pakistan’s first army chief and president to be charged with treason on 31 March 2014, for imposing a state of emergency, in a bid to end challenges to his rule by a hostile judiciary, Islamist militants and political rivals.

The former President pleaded not guilty to five charges and dismissed them as being politically motivated. The trial, however, could not be concluded over the past six years for several reasons.

Pakistan should consider why it remains under developed still after 70 years while its military booms massively.

Because we have dumb folk like you as citizens who have no clue whats going on and instead of taking responsibility for the corrupt they choose, and then cant even be bothered to protest for their rights, and then try and throw shit at Military who are apparently the one ones doing their job right.

If I am not wrong President can always pardon the death row inmate. All has to do is Pardon mussraf because of 40 years service in Ar

What a contrast!!!!

In Pak, folks are fighting (in social media) over the death sentence of ONE person (living in Dubai)....

In India, folks are fighting (in the streets incurring real casualties) over the death sentence of 220m Muslims (living inside India)...

No one will chant Niazi Xinda Hai.

As i said. Find a cave and wait
IMO this chanting will never affect the placement of person in 'JANNAH' or 'JAHANUM'. These are only to glorified the mortal world. Haji SAB, How weak your believes and observations are ... !

Your role model leader already left the Pakistan as a cave ... so pray to ALLAH SWT for your own 'Hidayah' and mental 'Sayha'.

I hope he remembers his oath to the constitution and does not add more fuel to the fire. Musharraf has the right to appeal and he should go the Supreme Court. Army should stay away from this as this is a decision against a politician who is head of a political party, he just happened to commit high treason as the Army chief.
The case relates to when Musharraf was the CoAS as the emergency was imposed when he was in uniform.
What does DG-ISPR's military oath have to do with speaking out about a matter that relates to the military and a former army chief? There is nothing in his oath that stops him from making any such statements and neither is there a Pakistan Army act that stops him from offering the view of his institution. Let's not mix up things here. He is the spokesperson for the armed forces. He is representing an institutional point of view which is being shared after a verdict has been announced.

Maybe the optics don't look right to you, but there is nothing wrong in it given that many of us have a massive problem with the optics of an idiotic verdict that calls for a former President, CJCSC, CoAS to be dragged dead around the streets and hung in a public chowk.

Supreme Court has already termed the 2007 emergency as Martial Law. Musharraf in his power as the COAS issued PCO. That's treason, DG ISPR is making statements which make the whole Army a party aligned with Musharraf in his treason. The better thing to do was to distance itself.

When Zia and Musharraf are quoted, you are asked to not judge the whole Army on that basis but here the Army is owning up to a convicted traitor.

What am I supposed to deduce from that?

A soldier should remember his oath to uphold the constitution, and I think it also means to not defend those who break it.

The judiciary of the day had endorsed the steps taken by Musharraf. The issue is around trampling on the constitution. The term "abeyance" does not equate to the definition that calls for charges of treason to be levied and prosecuted.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that holding the constitution in "abeyance" is equal to subversion which is punishable under article 6.

most importantly the word Abeyance was inserted in Article-6 in 18th amendment, before that it was not it the Article-6 and the reason was simple that this word was in he notification of 3 November, 2007 emergency

And more questionable conduct is it application in retrospective manner ....

This is how Imran Khan sisters were humiliated when they tried to do "ehtjaj" in Garden town Barkat Market Lahore against the arrest of Imran Khan by the punjab police under the puppy of Musharraf mr. pervez elahi after 2007 "emergency plus" BS imposed by Musharraf. Imran Khan's sisters will be very "proud" of his government for trying to defend musharraf's crimes in 2007, he is a "great ghairatmand brother". This is the video proof of that "ehtjaj" and the humiliation inflicted on Imran Khan's sisters by then puppies of musharraf.
