Few days ago chinese television showed the famous "carrier-killer" DF-21D for thé first time. As usual none paid enough attention, believed it's the DF-21C instead. But my expert eyes saw the truth:

Now Confront it below with the only two pics on Internet so far:

We learnt that the TEL is the same as DF-21C and the only differences are the round canister base and the metal plates of the hydraulic pistons which are considerably larger than those of 21C.

Second Artillery is finally showing its true strength, but we know DF-21D has already a more powerful successor in development. Remember, China is far ahead than what is shown publicly. :china:

How come I am not made aware of the existence of the DF-21D in official parlance?:hitwall::azn:

The newer DF-21D probably has improved a lot in its range and accuracy, consider the tremendous improvement of DF-31A from the original DF-31.

Its successor should be probably one these two, or both:

Both are six axles chassis meaning the missile is surely longer and heavier than DF-21D. So certainly the range has greatly improved.

It's just unbelievable the speed these new missile systems are being developed...After all we have to take advantage of our economic boom!
We'll be ready for the great challenge against those evils who want to isolate and contain China.

Are you allowed to share pics of such sensitive things on Internet, for all we know secret police is knocking your door right now

Improved range, excellent.

And we can massively increase the range further, once we can put an HGV warhead on it. Not to mention increased accuracy, maneuverability, and speed.

That will allow us to sink aircraft carriers from halfway across the world, we won't even need to leave Chinese territorial waters.

UAVs and J-20s are both 'off-board sensors' that can provide targeting information for the DF-21D.

50,000 'upgraded' fishing vessels are ready to provide targeting information for the DF-21D.

Satellites and seafood: China keeps fishing fleet connected in disputed waters| Reuters

(Reuters) - On China's southern Hainan island, a fishing boat captain shows a Reuters reporter around his aging vessel. He has one high-tech piece of kit, however: a satellite navigation system that gives him a direct link to the Chinese coastguard should he run into bad weather or a Philippine or Vietnamese patrol ship when he's fishing in the disputed South China Sea.

By the end of last year, China's homegrown Beidou satellite system had been installed on more than 50,000 Chinese fishing boats, according to official media. On Hainan, China's gateway to the South China Sea, boat captains have paid no more than 10 percent of the cost. The government has paid the rest.

" China's new CSS-20 ballistic missile could take out all US military facilities in the Western Pacific, claims the Kanwa Defense Review operated by Andrei Chang, also known as Pinkov, a military analyst based in Canada.

The primary mission of the CSS-20, designed to carry out China's Anti Access and Area Denial strategy, is to strike at ground targets instead of aircraft carriers or other warships, the report said. The missile even has the range to hit Elmendorf Air Force Base and Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, some 5,000 kilometers from mainland China, the report said.

Other targets for the People's Liberation Army in a potential conflict with the United States would be Guam in the Western Pacific and Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

Kanwa said the development of CSS-20 missile comes in response to the Asia Pivot strategy of the Obama administration. The article said the missile would undergo modifications in the future to make it more difficult for US radar stations and air defense system in Alaska to pick up. "

Has anybody ever heard about this css-20?
Is it the NATO designation for the new DF-26 or DF-27?
