Lolwa

What kind of launch vehicles?

Launching a satellite for Pakistanis would be construed as an insult by most of them.

I dont think the purpose of amity will be achieved.
For bozos like Genereal Hafiz Saeed and his ilk, launching a Pakistani satellite on a Hindu rocket would be considered blasphemy!

.
we will have here :enjoy:
Let me tell you how to make one :D
Collect lots of lungis and attach them with other and then tie them with 4 poles on height of 20 feet
Now put your Lungi satellite on that, Now drag that lungi launcher downward with you 16+ Million force and after full stretch leave it. :enjoy:
My English is bad but i think you'll understand

I dont think Pakistan builds its satellite. I think they purchase sats from China.

. . . .
We've got China to cover all of our needs. We'd rather stick to our old friend.
What has this got to do with China? If you didn't know, China is not part of SAARC. Modi was talking about a satellite system only for SAARC nations.

And what 'needs' are you talking about? Is China providing what SAARC satellites can provide?

The SAARC satellites can be used for:

Remote sensing
Communication
Meteorology
Earth Observation
Mobile satellite service
Business communication
Television Broadcasting
Satellite-based amateur radio services
Education
Digital satellite news gathering
Oceanographic, coastal and atmospheric applications
Tele-education, Telemedicine and for Village Resource Centres
Navigation

The question is, will all SAARC countries fund it? Let's see: Pakistan? No. Bangladesh? Doesn't seem too keen. Nepal? May want but cannot afford. Bhutan? We can do it on their behalf. Maldives? Maybe, but can't afford. Sri Lanka? Maybe interested and may help with funding

Remember our orbits are getting crowded and we have to station our own 30+ satellites in there for IRNSS military satellite system. (I think 5 have been sent already)

Unless we have ASAT capability to strike down satellites, we shouldn't build what we can avoid.
