I did not say anything against the cultural aspects, but I think it needs to be separated from the more serious part of the celebrations: The military parade. Putting all those displays, dancers etc between marching regiments, tanks, MRLSs and and fighter jets and attack helos does not make up. At least in IMHO.

I agree the dances should not have been mixed up with military contingents ...

But I guess our soft power ( Bollywood ) wants to mix up and complement with hard power

some of the tableaux ( actually majority of them ) were ridiculous ...

especially "birdie" one should not have been there ...

I felt little ashamed to see men and women wearing 'birds' and just walking ...

It was so pathetic ...could not Himachal Pradesh come up with something nice ?
