Israelis have certainly overinflated the prowess of their AF, as do most nations. However their ability to adapt to new technology and implement it in time of war to attain the best results are impressive and they have to be given due credit.

Every buddy is brave at 20000Ft. and to talk about the israel AF they have a very impressive number of kills but every time they came against a Pakistani they got shot down or ran away.

Now 70,000 tropps supported by all the IAF and artillery needed about 2 weeks to expell around 2,000-2,500 intruders. If that is bravery than IA is the bravest in the world.

now let me give u my point we dont need to asl our soldiers to fight against indian Soldiers and during kargil war i know many of indian soldiers didnt even want to fight their seniors force tham to and by force i mean............

Thanks to Uncle SAM Israel Armed forces are the best because they are using the best tools in the Market. I am going out of my way to say this but its like " Lord of the rings " thingi going on. There is some thing very holy or something very evil there which gives them the drive and Power..

To be fair, uncle SAM is only a part of the reason why Israel dominates the region.

Arabs enjoy overwhelming advantage over Israel (the ratio is 50:1 to 100:1 in terms of population, area, resources etc.). The reason Israel still comes out tops is not only uncle SAM but the quality of their people.

I don't think USA has ever put it's soldiers on the ground for them. They do their fighting and they do a lot of their weapon development. They are just exceptional in the field of Science and Technology.

Dumping everything on just the US support is just an excuse!

Israel as a nation itself has developed at a rapid pace. True, they have got assistance from the US, but they aren't unique in having a wealthy benefactor by any means.

Credit must be bestowed upon them for having industrialized and achieved a very high level of competence with advanced science and technology. Their applications of technological resources is another quality that ought to be respected. They have modernized everything from their military and security systems to agriculture, dairy industry and social services. All of this combined with their impressive organizational skills, smart human resourcing, innovative spirit and a highly acclaimed education system has made them very successful and a deadly force to reckon with.

I assure you, there is nothing "holy" or "evil" about their driving force. This again is a mere machination of the Islamic world. In fact, Israelis are some of the most secular people I have ever met. American Jews are known to be far more religious and orthodox. The bottom line is that Israelis have made brilliant use of their time and resources and followed it up with diligent and arduous work to build an impressive society which their enemies have been unable to destroy. This unfortunately is something their adversaries cannot seem to admit and instead choose to indulge in nonsensical blame games. I recently saw this dangerous trend when I was in Egypt and found it rather disappointing because it made their society look so pathetic in comparision... which in turn put me off because I have always kept the middle east very close to my own heart.

Nonetheless, lets be honest here. The level of sophistication of the Israeli armed forces is something countries like India and Pakistan aspire to achieve one day.

Dear MuradK,

You may have point there but Uncle Sam's help is not always a recipe for success,

Kuwait was well armed by the USA but the rolled over like puppy dogs when invaded by iraq.

Pakistan was very well armed by the USA but it did not prevent the fiasco of 1971.

Iran and the Shah (USA) could not do anything to prevent his removal from power.

In the end the man behind the machine still matters.
