Democracy needs heavy filtration. The concept of Islamic Khilafat is democracy + meritocracy + some extra guidelines combined. Basically the Khalifat needs to be endorsed by the vote (bait) of all the people but he is selected by the council of people with great character.

Human beings are not perfect unless they are angels so thats why even perfect system would become imperfect when implemented by human beings

problem is society consists of people with different mindset and thought process so there is no single political system out there which will satisfy the need of all without having any disagreement among them

in USA ,big companies will win no matter who is president. those big companies rule USA . democracy would not work if president of USA want to curtail some privilege of those companies.
there are some different situations in china. politics privilege is a serious problem.
