The separate flows used to be mainly about dialect mainly between west and east, but now it's becoming hindu muslim.

Someone mentioned before, Joy Bangla was adopted by Awami League faction, the slogan was Bangladesh Zindabad before. BD is still quite polarized.

Everyone here probably knows a freedom fighter who doesn't have any political affiliations, heck, many freedom fighters hate Awami League. Don't mistake a person just because of their political leaning.

Hindus are barely 7~8 percent of voters/electorates in Bangladesh. Their voices will still be heard (some would say disproportionately so for their numbers), but it is not in the nature of Bangladeshis to oppress minorities, as is done in India.

Life of Hindu Bangladeshis are governed by Hindu Family Law in Bangladesh, which is different from Bangladeshi Muslim law and Indian Law. That cannot be taken away from Hindus by Bangladeshi govt. or anyone else.

• There is no known limit for the number of wives a Hindu man can take in Bangladesh. Polygamy for Hindu men is legal in Bangladesh.[40]
• Under Bangladesh Hindu (civil) law, men do not officially have any options for divorce.
• Women are prohibited from inheriting property under Hindu family (civil) law.
• Hindu men and women would like to obtain a divorce but did not seek it because of existing laws.
• Hindus, in general, maintain cordial relationships with Muslims and they even participate in each other's festivals such as Durga Puja and Eid al-Fitr.
• There is no large scale ongoing conflict based on religious hatred.

I'm asking questions in a public forum which is just, shouldn't irk you if I ask for a bd hindu opinion?

We are going around in circles. So let's just agree to disagree.

If Muslim people want to bring out idols in a procession or have festivities with them present, they can do it. No one is banning that by govt. edict. No one will attack it, though they may roll their eyes a bit and vocalize. Again - this is not India.

Mongol shovajatra took place every year, except for Covid restrictions last year.

But by popular definition, everyone in Bangladesh knows that these people have, are and will be crossing a line.

Shirq and idolatry is haram in Islam. As simple as that.

By that definition, these people cannot commit idolatry and keep calling themselves Muslim under the same breath.

There is no such thing as a "sometimes Muslim", a "semi-Muslim" or a "soft Muslim".

Either you are a "believing Muslim" with Iman, or not.

Not even asking people to be "practicing Muslim". But Iman and belief are fundamental requirements.

We don't have to explain this to any non-Bangladeshi either, but just clarifying this.

BD text books are full of Hindu kobis, no one ever complained, infact it can be slightly hard to find poems by Muslims in BD textbooks.
