The food is very cheap there not much profit can be expected at those rates . Same thing you will tell about taxi drivers and sales persons in desi grocery shops , halal shops run by bangladeshis and pakistanis ? Comparing income of educated upper middle class people in Silicon Valley and uneducated people (former auto drivers etc.) arriving with a Diversity Visa from Jackson Heights is not fair.

But it is obvious you have no clue about how much money people make in Jackson Heights. The latter are not leading an "uncomfortable life" by any means.

You have little idea about wage levels, business ownership and what entails opportunity in the US.

My illegal alien Mexican gardener's son (who was born in the US) is going to UCLA on scholarship. When he gets out, he will make far more than most H1B's in Silicon Valley. His dad makes less than minimum wage and lives in the worst part of town. This is called the "leveling of the playing field in the US". New H1B's from India would have little clue about this and are given to Ulti-Sidhi baat.
