Death of Mullah Omar

Hi,

The death of Mullah Omar has shown his true face to the public and to his followers. It is now proven without any doubt that he was a self-righteous----self-centered---arrogant---illiterate bigot.

He wanted the glory right from the beginning to the end----and in his death he has hurt the cause of Taliban and integrity of Pakistan for no reason at all.

A few days before his death he knew about the coming end to his life---and even though he knew about it---he did not do anything about it.

In his failure to chose a replacement for a smooth transition of power after his death---it became very evident that Mullah Omar lived for himself and for his personal ideology.

He had no interest regarding any peace deal in the region and the lives of the people who depended on him for leadership and the future of Afghanistan.

The final act of this man has put the cause of Taliban and Pakistan at a great risk.
You see, this is what i don't understand about Pakistani "Liberals" (so called), and this isn't aimed at you personally Mastan, but you guys pretend to bash the Mullahs, the religious fanatics, and the Taliban, blaming them for all of the ills of society, for all of the backwardness and how because of them Pakistani society doesn't accept scantily dressed clothing for women, and yadda yadda yadda, but as soon as the very Mullahs you guys love to bash so much begin to lose their influence and start dying off you so called "Liberals" start crying tears about why your Mullah pets turned on you or didn't do this or that, etc.... and you do your best to save them from extinction. Pakistani "Liberals" and Mullahs can't live without each other it seems.

When the Taliban are fighting in Afghanistan against the Afghan government, they are good guys who need to be negotiated with, but when they are doing the same in Pakistan they are evil mullah fanatics hell bent on turning Pakistan into an Arab country. This is the logic of Pakistani so called "Liberals".

Sir, Kindly educate me regarding what was the cause of Taliban? To my knowledge after the ouster of Soviets from Afganishtan all Taliban did was to murder innocent children, lynch women, pull down ancient statues of Buddha, provide safe haven to Osama and Company from which 9/11 attacks were launched, facilitated the hijacking and subsequent hostage of Indian Airlines flight and other sundry crimes against humanity.

I believe you are well versed hence won't provide links for my assertions.

Regards
Those Buddha statues were torn down in the year 2000 i believe. The Taliban took over Afghanistan in 1996, which means for four years they left the statues untouched. Have you ever wondered why they decided to blow them up four years into their rule over Afghanistan and not before that?

Hi,

Thank you for your post---but why are you mad at me---. I will be the fist one to hang them to a light pole.

. .
Before the creation of taliban and just after soviet left afghanistan, why there is such a Hugh gap in your knowledge ? were crimes of taliban more horrible than the crimes of Afghan warlords due to which taliban movement was created to purge such elements ?
Very interesting...
So due to some obscure warlords crimes, Pakistan embedded it's military advisors, and poured in containers filled with "talib-e-ilm" from dar-ul-uloom haqania - akhora Khattak, to topple Rambaani/Najibullah government in Kabul? Not sure what they were purging there, given that Massoud/Fahim/Najibullah/Rabbani belonged to a coalition : PDPA/Jamiat-e-islami/Khalq. A country reeling from a decade of war, needed "Taliban and Mullah Omar" for peace and prosperity according to Pakistan, and we all know how well it worked out, don't we.

And YES, Taliban crimes were much worse than Afghan warlords, none of them had mass eloborate genocide orchestrated as far as I recall.... In the name of purge, all that Pakistani Backed Mullah Omar's Taliban created was gross human rights violations, medieval legal system, Hazara and uzbek genocides, and all with complicity and connivance of Pakistani Deep State.

Hi,

After the exit of the soviets--afg was a total lawless country----no one was safe---. Mullah Omar filled the role to provide security of life and property to an average afghan----.

From one extreme of crime after the soviet exit---to another extreme of security for the public---. Indeed many a practices of his were brutal---but a single woman to walk the length and breadth of Afghanistan and no one would threaten her.

His stupidity of giving refuge to OBL was brainless----. Never understood the consequence of allowing a Christian army to invade a muslim land.
Wait, Mullah omar filled the role of What?
Vaccum left by what? PDPA Parcham of the Saur revolutions had it's entire leadership intact.... Jamiat e Islami was still there, so was Khalq, and then there were "so called forefather" - like your Hekymetyaar and Haqqanis?

Lets not forget the madarsas where the cannon fodder for Kabul seige came from, it's quite well documented who bankrolled the one eyed bigot to power....

Rampant lawlessness----if that meant anything.

.
That would depend on the ethnicity of the woman. Taliban used to kidnap and rape Shia Hazara women for example, just like ISIS is doing to Yazidis in Iraq.
You never went to Afghanistan and never to Iraq, what is source of you claim.....

"According to Professor Azmat Hayat Khan of the University of Peshawar,

  1. when Ahmad Shah Massoud's mujaheddin liberated Kabul in 1992, and Najibullah gave up power, the communist generals of the army and of Khad agreed to prolong the Afghan civil war in order to discredit President Burhanuddin Rabbani's mujahid government and prevent Afghanistan from stabilizing.
  2. The Uzbek communist General Abdurrashid Dostum continued the rebellion against Rabbani and Massoud in Mazar-i-Sharif, massively backed by the Soviet Union and later by Russia and Uzbekistan.
  3. Another rebellious general was Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. Most of the ethnic Pashtun Khalq army generals as well as those of the Khad defected to Hekmatyar's troops.
  4. A decisive role was the one played by General Shahnawaz Tanai, the communist commander of the artillery, who defected to Hekmatyar's side as early as in 1990. Later in 1995, when Hekmatyar's rebellion was losing strength, Tanai defected to the Taliban. So did many other communist army and Khad officers."

  • The Taliban artillery commander was the former Soviet Army's Afghan military intelligence officer Shah Sawar.
  • The Taliban intelligence service chief Mohammed Akbar used to head a department of the Khad.
  • And the Taliban air force commander Mohammed Gilani was a communist general, too.
You never care to mention Genocide of Afghans by Soviets,oh wait you were on there side.

In July 1999, Mullah Mohammed Omar issued a decree in favor of the preservation of the Bamiyan Buddha statues. Because Afghanistan's Buddhist population no longer exists, so the statues are no longer worshipped, he added: "The government considers the Bamiyan statues as an example of a potential major source of income for Afghanistan from international visitors. The Taliban states that Bamiyan shall not be destroyed but protected.

I did not want to destroy the Bamiyan Buddha. In fact, some foreigners came to me and said they would like to conduct the repair work of the Bamiyan Buddha that had been slightly damaged due to rains. This shocked me. I thought, these callous people have no regard for thousands of living human beings -- the Afghans who are dying of hunger, but they are so concerned about non-living objects like the Buddha. This was extremely deplorable. That is why I ordered its destruction. Had they come for humanitarian work, I would have never ordered the Buddha's destruction

I don't need western media to know what does the Taliban version of their Sharia law entails.

I don't need western media to also know about the Hijacking of Indian Airlines plain and sanctuary and safe passage given to hijackers.

In that case, you must be having a really trusted source of your news? Should be a very non-biased one too. Can I please know it?

Just for once accept that Afghan Taliban are a different group of people and TTP different.
Afghan Taliban governed Afghanistan for 5 years. TTP governs nothing but themselves. A few thousand fighters/militants.
Afghan government is fighting Afghan Talibs with international support which is decreasing with Nato withdrawal and stuff.
TTP on the other hand is completely being dealt by Pak ARmy.
Afghan Talibs are not world wide recognized as a Terrorist organization. TTP is!!!!
I am not saying what Afghan Talibs are doing is exactly correct or anything near to correct... why? But they are a power in the Afghanistan region but TTP isn't shit in Pakistan so that makes a difference....
That is exactly why I believe TTP can not be negotiated with but Afghan Talibs can be!

I base everything on factual reports.

Mass killing:
How the Taliban slaughtered thousands of people

Human Rights Watch has obtained gruesome confirmation of the Taliban's penchant for death by container. It quotes a man who was detained by the militia and saw container trucks filled with victims leaving the Mazar-e-Sharif jail several times every day.

Once he watched as the Taliban opened the container doors to find three prisoners alive and about 300 dead. The Taliban drove the trucks to a desert site known as Dasht-e-Leili and ordered porters to dump the cargo of corpses in the sands.

Rape:
KABUL, Afghanistan -- Everyone has their horror stories, though they refuse to be quoted. There was the 12-year-old boy arrested by the Taliban and held overnight in a Kabul police station. A member of the Hazara minority, he was raped and castrated before being returned to his terrified family. They have now escaped to Pakistan with their other children, according to a European aid worker.

In Afghanistan,terror from the Taliban

Taliban troops also killed civilians in aerial bombardments and rocket attacks on panicked citizens fleeing southward out of the city, toward the Alborz mountains. Human Rights Watch is also concerned by persistent reports that women and girls, particularly in certain Hazara neighborhoods of Mazar-i Sharif, were raped and abducted during the Taliban takeover of the city.

Treatment of women

Many women in Afghanistan currently suffer human rights violations under one of the most anti-female regimes ever to take control of a country. Women in Afghanistan are forced into virtual house arrest, while the rest of the world has largely looked the other way. Restrictions on their freedom of expression, association, and movement deny these women full participation in society and, consequently, prevent them from effectively securing equal opportunities for work, education, and access to public services. Because of this situation, one of the most crucial issues facing women in Afghanistan is their lack of access to adequate health care, which is placing their lives at risk.

You have no reading comprehension, or you have a very low IQ. Or both.

When Taliban took over Mazar i Sharif in 1998 they slaughtered thousands of people, mainly Shia Hazaras, and dumped their corpses in the desert. Afterwards the Northern Alliance took revenge, in 2001, using the exact same method.

Also,
The city of Kabul is multi-ethnic, with 45% Tajiks, 30% Hazaras, 20 % Pashtuns, 2% Uzbeks, 1% Baloch, 1% Turkmen, and 1% others
