Then what the DefMin is for? They are custodian of India's security, by any cost they had to force Army buy atleast 50000 to start with. Actually the fact is he was not bothered at all. He did not take any decision in his tenure.

The greatest failure is not to start an Indian submarine program based on Scorpene in 2006 itself. I do not understand why we pay extra for ToT!!! After delay also I can assure you that in 2016 MDL would have started building an Indian design submarine. Antony was waste of time.

Yeah, Anthony was a total waste, guess what? Much of India's existence the defence industry, and every other industry was wasted. You can stretch this well before Anthony.

Army can what they please.

OFB can keep producing shit ammo dating from the 80s.

how many more example? This was nurtured well before Anthony.

Yes true. But time started changing during his tenure. India became capable. Our industry became capable. Our GDP grown four times. We had money to start things. But there was no decision.

Even with that said, a lot of products of the license raj still remain. Still to this day. Granted, things are changing. Putting someone like Anthony as MoD to begin with is a legacy product of the spoil system. India needs merit politics.

We have seen many FAST helmets and many variants already in use in the Indian armed forces BUT many are ill fitting or too big to the operator!

So Q, are there different sizes in this deal or one size fits all?

(If anyone in bangalore. Try Olive Planet in RT nagar - army surplus store, small but pretty good. They have helmets there , tried one BUT way to big for me!)
Army helmets are NOT in one size fits all.
The main reason why the American M1 (classic) helmet from WWII fit mostly western armies was because of the bigger frame of westerners. The M1 variant when used by South East and East Asian armies was too big for the small Asian frames. You could see many pictures of South Vietnamese or Thai Army soldiers wearing bulky M1s which were too big. Many countries modified the M1 to suit their own men's average head sizes.

Indian forces who were given the modern helmets were found to be wearing much bulkier helmets (in terms of size) and many soldiers had complained that the inventories had only one size. Only now the IA is putting efforts in having 2-3 different but stnadard shape sizes.
