Dalai Lama calls on India to preserve Tibetan culture

A dark skinned Indian? So now you are being racist as well? And no sorry my skin is white and so is my family's, once again sorry to disappoint you, although the color of someones skin has nothing to do with anything.

so the "whiteness" of your mental suit starts to affect your actual skin color now? well, at least there is michael jackson's example to follow..

and race's got everything to do with everything, and i have a strong and convincing record of talking about race and politics

Since you are so convinced I am Indian, prove to me that I am? Ohh that's right I forgot that the Chinese have a way to cover up proof and truth.

do you deny your ancesters are from india?

on topic:

india's involvement in all the do$$ar lama fiasco is political, nothing more than that!

they cant get their own religions right and then meddle into another country's religious affairs! what a bunch of indiots!

. . .
lol I am racist now? Because I am not of Indian heritage? You like your Chinese government are a joke.

.
that old man is a threat to peace between + 2 billion people, sorry to say that but its true

He had no option mate... U had no idea how china was under cultural revolution... No monastries, mosques etc all were banned..
The fact the tibetian culture is still maintained is one thing we can proudly have our hands on...

India has always been a safe haven for the persecuted, the Tibetan culture is being kept alive because they are in a country which encourages them and protects them, if it wasn't for India the great Tibetan culture would be lost forever under the boots of the Chinese.

No wonder the Tibetans living in India are glad they are in India, nothing China can do about it other than cry and warn and talk crap.

India is indeed the crucible of four of the major religions in the world, India has shown that it will stand up for the rights of people by granting the Dali Lama and the people of Tibet a refuge in India, no wonder the Tibetans love India and no wonder they live all over India.

The Tibetans are the most harmless people on Earth, no wonder India is respected all over the world, no wonder Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu etc have all drawn inspiration from India, and no wonder the world is cheering on India's rise on the world stage, just look around India has so many friends around the world, that I don't think even Indian people know how much support they have from all over the planet.

I would disagree with the bold bit, I done some reading into Serdom and tibeten culture and the practices that took place was really barbaric, not saying that the CPC is a saint but Tibetans (Wealthy ones) are by no means "harmless".

The story of the Serfdom may or may not be fabricated but evidence do crop up, I was in outer Mongolia and visited a temple who followed the Tibetan practices of Buddhism, you could see several artifacts made from human bone etc (usual stuff). Adorned on the ceiling was a figure similar to the picture below. The only difference was the one in Mongolia was made of cloth and if the link on the website is correct is made from skin of serf children.

If you were in that temple it would send a shiver down your back

it is not good to blame man for our inability ..he did what he thought right for his people ..they never resorted to any kind of violence ..peaceful people they are ..
We did the right thing by accepting them for sake of humanity ..
China position vis a vis india is also understandable ..but first of all its chinas failure that they tried to give nightmares not dreams to those hapless tibetians ..

I dont agree. This old man is a curse in Sino-Indian relationship and thats a fact. Both countries are nuclear armed and we already fought a bloody war. This man, and whatever his ideals might be, is not worth risking the peace, development and securitiy of our two nations.

Sounds rational.
I don't try to take sides in the Tibet-China controversy because I don't know enough 'facts'. However, as I understand it, Tibetans are relatively so few in numbers, Hans are migrating to that region--it is a fait accompli that China has complete control over that region. It is best that the Tibetan culture be preserved but it is actually a bit sickening to see a 'man of peace' like Dalai Lama proudly counting the self-immolation 'martyrs' to present his political case to the world.
Oh, btw, even a semi-propaganda movie like 'Seven Years in Tibet' shows the 'peaceful', 'peasant' Tibetans taking up arms; yes, it could be termed as self-defense but it also shows Tibetans were never all-peaceful either.
