In fact, the BrahMos is easier to intercept from front because of its fast speed -- because it cannot change direction as quickly due to large forward momentum.

Wat if those 10 interceptors trying to hit brahmos collide themselves and tangled and gets deep in ocean..?

And for u r note..
We can launch 5 brahmos at one ship(thats reality) will u launch 50 interceptors to block all of them.....?

The thing is.. On account of its sheer speed, The brahmos will be in an out of a particular radars targetting field in a few seconds. Not enough to launch SAMs. And neither India nor Pakistan still have a network centric system for multiple radars to work in tandem.

- BrahMos gets launched. Let's say the enemy detects it and figures out the general area where it's headed. Remember, the IR signature is generated from body friction so it's going out in all directions. And the BrahMos cannot fly as low as a subsonic missile.

- Interceptors are launched from the estimated target location. They don't need to catch up to BrahMos because it is coming at them.

- When the BrahMos comes within range of the interceptor's IR sensor, all it has to do is to manoeuver itself in the BrahMos' flight path. The interceptor is passive so the BrahMos doesn't know it is being tracked and, in any case, it can only do so much manoeuvering due to it's large forward momentum.

Bottom line, once the BrahMos is detected, it is easy to track and intercept. It's only hope is that it is detected too late by the enemy.

as my friend said 5min before it reach it targets with steep dive and large manuvers ,it close to impossible to detect .No BMD present till now intercept a Supersonic cruise missile flying as close as 30to 50mts altitude...i gave you a link check out more and come out of your world of ignorance.

Btw, did you know that during the first Gulf War, it took 10 Patriot missiles @ 1 million each to intercept one Scud @ 100,000?

I don't think such an intercept missile system exists, but it is theoretically possible to build one.
 
it doesn't matter whether it 1000km ....stealth is more important....i think 700km is enough to reach enemies bases and do the damage.

The whole game between aircraft is about agility and evasive manoeuvers. BrahMos sacrifices agility for speed (i.e. surprise). Also keep in mind that the BrahMos is unlikely to take evasive action when it gets close to its target. Part of its punch is the huge kinetic energy, and each course change takes away from the final punch.

Well there cannot be a Forward Momentum , Because Momentum by itself defines Velocity not Speed, so if You say Brahmos does not change its Trajectory then how can It have a Forward Momentum??

What IR systems you have to detect it at long range? Nothing. Brahmos can fly like all sea skimming missile.

First of all the scud was a ballistic missile. They are much more difficult to intercept. Cruise missiles are like pilotless planes.

And I know the IAF is working majorly towards developing network centric warfare. Do you have links on such a pakistani progeramme? Thanks in advance

Of course it can change trajectory. I only said that it cannot make sharp manoeuvers due to its huge forward momemtum.
Even its famous dive will occur over a large distance in a relatively flattened curve. That's just physics.

I said BrahMos can be intercepted; I didn't say Pakistan has the interceptor technology.
But you can bet China is working on it.

What IR systems you have to detect it at long range?

US satellites can detect a house fire from space. The technology is there although, I admit, Pakistan may not have it.
