CRPF asks govt to replace Insas guns with AK rifles

The sad thing is that many indian soldiers have lost their lives, because of the poor design and manufacture of the insas weapon system, we have used captured insas weapons in tests - and found many drawbacks, including it's propensity to jam.

Your concern for the lives and safety of Indian soldiers is duly noted.

Field reports of our soldiers and spec op's have shown that in many encounters the indians weapons jammed - with devastating consequences.

Reports which you are privy to, no doubt because of your high standing in the intelligence community and your importance in the echelons of the covert forces.

In fact read about an encounter with one of our spec ops teams - on "Lurps" (LRRP) - wiped out an entire indian platoon - when the KIA's were checked - a number of the insas rifle were jammed.

Are you sure it's the fault of INSAS? Maybe it's because of that old adage, that one Pakistani mard-momin = ten Indians kafirs. So one LLRP team can wipe out an entire Indian platoon with ease. And also manage to not get it into the news, and keep it covered and unknown, except to the likes of your highness of course. I mean, one soldier killed in firing along the border sends the Indian media and people into a frenzy - but one Pakistani long range patrol into Indian territory, deep behind enemy lines, and then their spectacular killing of an entire platoon - that will not be known to anybody, would it? Except those cognizant of "field intel reports".

In our tests...
So not only does his eminence rub shoulders with the luminaries of military intelligence, but is also personally involved in weapons testing. Wah, wah!

In our tests - other than design flaws, the rifles were "high maintenance" required regular cleaning - it seem indian soldiers were poor at "field craft" also.

And there it is - anything is an opportunity to badmouth Indian soldiers. Even a run of the mill report that a police force is looking to replace its rifles is a golden opportunity to make fun of the Indian army. But then how can I challenge the words of someone who is so fully apprised of "field intelligence reports", and regularly debriefs special op teams returning from LLRPs?

Your fondness for writing creative fiction is appreciated, but kindly confine such tales to the "stupid and funny" thread, or consider writing a war novel or screenplay. I am sure they will pay you highly for your talent for cooking up such stories, just as they would listen admiringly to your earlier rivetting account of dying Indian soldiers' last words praising the mard-e-momins of the Pak army, and your transcript of the conversation between MKI pilots who had foolishly intruded into Pakistani airspace, and were terrified into fleeing by a Pakistani F-16. (Or was it windy who provided that narrative, being in charge of ATC at the time?)

LoL - first thing you are getting it wrong, it is not LLRP, it is in fact LRRP ie Long-Range-Reconnaissance-Patrol.
And secondly where have I made fun of the indian soldiers, I am just giving a professional opinion.
And regarding my credibility, people who know me from PAKDEF, know, how credible I am.

Ps. Regarding the decimation of the indian platoon, by Spec Ops team, this was a few years back, I'm sure if you google it, will bring up the incident quite nicely. ;) .

His eminence should pardon slip ups like that from mortal like us. I am aware of what LRRP is, it was an inadvertent error. Of course, such perfunctoriness is unpardonable in front of his eminence.

Calling them bad at fieldcraft and maintaining weapons was not very complimentary, was it?

And regarding my credibility, people who know me from PAKDEF, know, how credible I am.

And yet, despite all the authority that your eminence has, with access to classified field reports and debriefs of LRRP teams, you haven't provided a shred of edifying new information - everthing in your post is a rehash of the same stuff that the media has repeated ad nauseum for ten years. Don't you think that with your standing at pakdef and among the special forces, you ought to provide us with a few new insights, and not just repeat what everybody knows, and then proclaim your judgement of Indian soldiers?

I just did that. The only relevant result I got about the "incident" was your eminence's own post on this very thread:

That's the highest ranked (and only) account of the "incident". Maybe his eminence could help out?

Replace them with Trichi made AK variant build locally. It is an awesome Rifle.

Interesting question, it doesn't seem to resemble anything the CRPF uses. Almost looks like an INSAS with UBGL, but with the main barrel removed. It doesn't look like any of the rocket launchers in service, given the small size.

LoL, aren't we tetchy today, maybe your time of the month. Regarding not being complementary, my opinion on indian soldiers being poor at maintaining basic kit, including their service weapons, is not an attack on them personally, it is a professional assessment - regarding a particular units - incompetence, in a core military skill set. I hardly think that is an insult on them.

Information that is classified, will never be put in the public domain, information has necessarily to be put down in such a manner as not, to out certain, SOP's.

SOP also says Soldiers should be in Barrack rather on Parliament. You think Pakistan army is professional one for this ? BTW CRPF are not Indian army but paramilitary forces.

Earlier you said that the incident would be available if I used google. Now suddenly it became classified? How does the death of an entire platoon remain classified anyway?

Enough BS, please show us a credible link or two about your LRRP "decimating" an entire Indian platoon. If you can't do that, keep such cock and bull stories to the tavern.

I have given my opinion, you are free to hold a counter one.

I told you to google it, incident happened a few years ago, it's not my job to find it for you, and if my opinions are cock and bull stories, why are you so agitated and tetchy regarding my assertions.

Methinks it is, because deep down, you have the feeling that these incidents occurred, otherwise why does it bother you - so much.

You can either believe that some indian soldiers (not all, never my assertion) were poor at field craft, that the INSAS, sometimes jammed, that led to many soldiers being killed or wounded, or not to believe it, your choice sonny.

What I find incredible is that your army conducted a long range patrol deep into enemy territory, killed a platoon of Indian soldiers and went back, and none of us knew about it.

I have already used google and provided you with a screenshot. If you can't substantiate wild yarns, don't spin them.
