Prime Minister Imran Khan has accepted an invitation to visit Saudi Arabia from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman who called him on Monday.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan received a telephone call today from the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman,” the PM House said in a statement.

The crown prince inquired about the prime minister’s health and wished him speedy recovery. Premier Imran has tested positive for Covid-19, the deadly viral infection caused by the novel coronavirus.

“The crown prince invited the prime minister to undertake a visit to Saudi Arabia in the near future. The prime minister graciously accepted the invitation,” reads the statement.

It added that the prime minister and the crown prince agreed to work together to further augment bilateral ties in all spheres. They also reaffirmed the resolve to further strengthening the strong and longstanding Pakistan-Saudi Arabia fraternal ties.

Premier Imran also inquired about the well-being of the crown prince who recently had had a surgical procedure.

He lauded the transformational “Green Saudi Initiative” and the “Green Middle East initiative” recently announced by the crown prince. He also highlighted Pakistan’s “10 billion Tree Tsunami” initiative, which is under way in the whole country, and its potential dividends to restore ecosystem and to combat climate change.

While highlighting the complementarities between both countries’ environmental initiatives, the prime minister hoped for enhanced bilateral cooperation and knowledge sharing in this field.

Prime Minister Imran Khan conveyed warm wishes for the custodian of the two holy mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen amiable and fraternal ties with Saudi Arabia and also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Hope he is sending the plane too.

So snub by US then India and then China-Iran deal appeared to have spooked the Prince..... or is he going to talk about next year's Hobura bustard hunting tour?

The deep state is a mess, the intelligista are not very intelligent. Most likely bribed up to their necks with a portfolio of properties abroad.

Lets start with creating a roadmap for strategic dominance in the region, decouple from politics and just fucking stick with it for half a century at least. This flipflopping for despots is ridiculous.

Even the Turkey advances are silly, what are they buying from you? They are shoving their tv shows and just shaping you as a buyer. This is not how relations are built.

good analysis .

Replacing an old, really important ally, which always bailed you out and helped you in your bad times, also served as a big bank account for just for some 2.5billion dollars?.
And then we complain why GCC block is tilting towards india. Is mulk ka Allah hi Hafiz hai.

I have to agree with you. We need as many allies as we can.
KSA would be important for us for long time since we are still getting about $4 Billion yearly foreign remittances from KSA.

Who else can replace KSA for US?
Would Turkey, Malaysia or China willing to employ 4 million Pakistani workers?

KSA has foreign policy tilt towards India, sure but then India is large country. You cannot blame KSA not to side with a country whose economic ranking is 154th out of 192 and who could not even build a dam in past 50 years. No one likes to be ally of a loser !

KSA did not side with us on Kashmir, its true but then how many other countries did side with US? Just three out of 192 !

Kashmir is our war and we have to fight it out alone. There is no need for us to get all sentimental when a soverign state does not side with us, a 154th ranking country.

. . . .
Totally false.. actually the Biden administration just closed that case forever..

KSA signed $65 billion worth of deals with China during the last visit by King Salman.. and more with the visit of MBS..
Nope , KSA is too big to be ignored by the US . They earn a big chuck of money from KSA

Nope what?

We weren't talking about that..

What you say is true.. but KSA is now an all fields strategic partner of China too..and even Russia.. not only the US.. Although the relationship with the US is pretty deep..KSA knows that it can not count only on the US,,

Afghanistan/India is behind the terror on our western border.

Iran/Afghanistan/India used to be a nexus as recently as 2020.
They came up with Chahbahar project to provide India a direct route to Afghanistan and to make sure that terror on our western border never stop.

KSA is counting on US since the days of first gulf war.
KSA has never been counting on the US.. the relationship is a 70 years one..
The Gulf war was in the US and western interests in the first place as they couldn't let Saddam take Kuwait and hence control 25% of world oil..

OT: This is a good gesture by MBS to further the brotherly relationships..

KSA literally begged America for protection from Saddam, dude at least man up and accept the reality, yes today KSA military is strong on paper but back in the days, your leaders run to America and ask them for protection.
But I know you won't agree with it, but whatever floats your boat.

I can see your complex clearly on the paper here..
KSA did not want war with Iraq.. that is a fact..it has even refused to be the lunchpad for the war..until Saddam invaded Kuwait.. and the US decided to intervene,, where you get this begging from..Or is it just a big complex showing up,,
