Cricketer Liton Das’ Puja greetings draw hate comments

whats going on in BD???

Same thing that is going on there for last seven decades, do you think the Bangladeshi Hindus are vanishing minority there for no reason?

About that cricketer, he is a fool to think that he will ever be considered a real Bangladeshi by the majority Bangladeshis...if he doesn't migrate to India, then his children will, it's just a matter of time now before Bangladesh becomes a 100% Muslim population country.

Why should a Islamic Nation like Bangladesh protect Hindu Religious interests? WTF is wrong with you people.

You do agree now DRAY, That Bengal is fcked and only Hindutva can set things straight even if it means violently?Because changes and tectonic movements are very violent.

Bangladesh national team cricketer Liton Kumar Das received numerous hate messages on Facebook after he posted a photo of the Durga idol yesterday and greeted his Facebook fans on the occasion of Puja.

A Facebook user, Md Metun, attacked Liton for his religious beliefs, saying “I told you not to post such religious things”.

Another user asked him to remove the photo citing that Islam does not allow idolatry and Bangladesh is inhabited mostly by Muslims. There were numerous other more abusive postings.

Das later deleted the post and put up a new status expressing how disheartened he was with the hate remarks.

“My first identity is that I am a Bangladeshi, and religion cannot divide us”, he said in his updated Facebook comment.

But it was all hate remarks. However, many of his fans responded with postings of their support for Das’ post.

Nahin Hasan Shaoun said, “In any Hindu festival the number of Muslims is more than the number of Hindus. We all enjoy the occasions together, but some people are ruining it for the rest of us by making these derogatory comments”.

With a new status today, Das once again faced similar fanatic backlash.

John D Sana wrote, “Liton, majority of the people in Bangladesh is Muslim and praying to idols is forbidden in Islam. You have hurt the Muslims by posting a photo of Durga on your Facebook account. So think of yourself as a Bangladeshi and not as a Hindu”.

To this, many of the fans retorted by condemning such postings.

It's just a bunch of people talking garbage about religion online. It happens all the time. I don't know why people take Facebook comments this seriously.

you can do chest thumb but reality is more unity among Hindu-Muslims in Bangladesh than India but i will not accept these idiots.
these guys from rural area, just got mobile internet and know only facebooking and try to be smartass.

few days ago, Musfiqur Rahim posted cow pic for Korbani and that brought some hindus to go vulgar, later it was deleted.
The con of having cheaper and easier internet access is these idiots get access to them :(

That Korbani pic however, I must know did it involve the cow actually being killed in it or is it just a pic of the cow?

Police could easily take action on the people who abused him..it is not a big thing...Bangladesh is becoming another Pakistan with each passing day..shame on these Bangladeshis.

IMO We're blowing this out of proportion I've seen much worse comments on Facebook than this . People in our region are getting touchy over religion day by day its pretty common that any person with an internet connection can say anything he wants to behind the curtain of anonymity . Look India for example these kind of things are regular occurrences(bigotry over internet) here also but still even with those sentiments millions of Hindus and Muslims lives peacefully in same neighbourhood .

But I'm in full support of allowing Bangladeshi Hindus in India. :enjoy:

Facebook hate comments are elementary course, when they grow up and move up the radical chain, they start vandalizing the puja pandals and breaking the idols sincerely...a practice that has become an annual ritual in Bangladesh, especially in rural Bangladesh. Nobody gets punished for such acts..obviously. Bangladesh is roughly less then 10% of all minorities, 10% truly liberal Muslims, 30-40% radical-in-disguise Muslims who give silent or ideological support to the more radical ones, and rest of the population are radicals...the only rising group in Bangladesh, all others are shrinking.

This Qatari free radical online university gives degrees and PhDs to its students after a complete brain washing, just google about its founder Dr. Bilal Philips...this is quite popular in Bangladesh (and among some Indian Muslims also :( )

I am disillusioned about Bangladesh.

I can agree and understand with you disillusionment but, you are exaggerating things too much here. The reason no one is punished for smashing idols.is because our police force isn't what I would call sufficient. The only reason why all of this is becoming more shown is because of the digital age. Our country's internet access is growing and becoming more convenient which is why these bumfucks are all on online posting these garbage comments. While I agree that militants are certainly becoming more active I believe this is because online makes it easier to do.

Also, why are you so nervous about some online University? Almost no one takes online Universities seriously.

Ah, lungi land, the most progressive , secular, cow thief's in south Asia, who kill bloggers and rape foreign tourists, and those who were made fun of by their previous masters from west who thought of you lungis as black sub human gulams of fair superior Muslims of Pakistan. Now you are acting as though lungis are superior then the sheiks, who themselves have no problem with Hindus.

Radicalisation among Muslims of the subcontinent is rising fast, the wahabi/salafi ideologies are spreading on a global scale riding on the oil money. Bangladesh being a 90%+ Muslim population is at a higher risk if your people consider it a risk at all. And the silent radicals are the most harmful species because they can't be identified easily and taken to task, but they form the backbone of the overtly radicals. BD section here is full of this type barring a handful. And police don't take action because supporters (both overt and covert) of such anti-minority acts are a large majority in Bangladesh, it will be a political harakiri.

And knowing how jihadi groups get their members through online radicalization, it will be naive to ignore its threat perception.

I am giving you a couple of my known examples, a Muslim friend of mine is from a highly educated and liberal background, his parents are professors, he has done his MBA from an elite business school and working in corporate sector in mid management level, his wife is a successful business woman in event management and advertising. In last few years both of them have became fans of two online radical Islamic preachers, Dr. Zakir Nayek and Dr. Bilal Philips..now his views are becoming very conservative, his wife has started practicing hijab, and his online activities are only about promoting Islam...I am not sure where they are heading. Another one I have seen is now keeping half a foot long untrimmed beard and started wearing trousers that ends a foot above his ankles...he is getting away with such dress code as he is a software engineer and that industry doesn't have much of dress codes. Another ex-colleague of mine quit his lucrative corporate job mostly because he couldn't get time to offer five times namaz...these are not good signs imho.
