Could The US Defend From An Invasion of the Homeland

i told u, this is only IF the US STILL has a formidable navy to render the transport of Chinese troops and equipment unsafe on the high seas. The PLA and PLAN marines would wanna hug as close to shore as possible, most likely with Russian support(tho Russia might not be a belligerent herself)

Besides, Alaska is the weak link. Thats the prime region to open a front to attack the US heartland.

Just fyi, Alaska is a closed military zone dating back to the cold war. The Russians will not be amused. But certainly, I will let you know when the US Navy is gone. By the way, you forgot about the Coast Guard ( who happen to be heavily armed also) and the Air National Guard, and our very own US Marines

Hahaha.... your country has a lot of covid 19 cases. No thanks. :D
Glad you had a re-think. we still have a ton of Corona beer!

I prefer Tsingtao.
I have tried it before. tastes good. But rice beer always gives me a headache. Dunno why..
Anyways guys, gotta fly. My buddies and I are gonna go shoot some pool and put away a few Jack Daniels and beer. And I don't have to drive! that's even better. Talk to y'all later

.

Anyway, im stating that the ferrying of land troops across the Bering strait and opening a front on the North American continent, is the closest any Major hostile(against the US) power can ever get- to attack the US homeland.

Where are you finding these images they are hilarious

The US can't be invaded. Anyone trying to do so would need to invent a new type of military technology.

You guys also overestimate armed citizens. They used to be a threat in the past as they had the same weapons as the regular military i.e. rifles and horses. Nowadays they dont stand a chance with tanks, jets etc. This is why it makes me laugh when right wing conservatives think they can overthrow the US government with a bunch of handguns.

i didnt really need to find them, i just look at what his rhetoric was, with my own interpretation- n google what was in my mind(when he said that)

Also, the OP opened this thread to foster a discussion(i presume????) so i gave my own opnion on how Alaska and the Bering straits has been America's weak link all along, sidelining the powerful and almighty USN on the open ocean

Also, i arrived at this conclusion independently as the makers of this game:

https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Battle_of_Anchorage

The Battle of Anchorage (also known as the Liberation of Anchorage, Anchorage Campaign, and the Anchorage Reclamation) was fought between the United States of America and the People's Republic of China, started by the Chinese invasion of Alaska in the year 2066.

BackgroundEdit
With conditions deteriorating between the U.S. and China, a military presence in Alaska was established to prevent a possible invasion across the Bering Strait. With increasingly scarce oil reserves, a last deep-sea deposit below the Pacific Ocean was claimed by China before allegedly being sabotaged by American special operatives. Strained relationships spiraled downward into conflict as Chinese forces marched into Alaska, officially starting the Sino-American War. Under the command of General Jingwei, the Chinese Army usurped control of Alaska's oil pipelines and reserves.

Under the leadership of General Constantine Chase, the U.S. Army battled fiercely at the front lines of the conflict before Chase began deploying specialized power armor units that began pushing the Chinese back. Future power armor suits were further refined as the conflict dragged on, and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline was reclaimed. With American resources flowing through Canada, strained diplomatic relations between the two countries became problematic. Canada was militarily annexed with the near sabotage of the Alaskan pipeline.

With a combination of inclement weather, constant American bombardment, trench warfare and U.S. power armor units attacking mainland China, the Chinese supply lines were severely weakened. By January 2077, the city of Anchorage was finally liberated and the Chinese presence was removed. A commemorative memorial was erected in Washington, D.C., in honor of the soldiers who fought and perished for the United States. Violence between America and pockets of Canadian freedom fighters continued throughout 2077, up until the Great War.

thus, if others can reach the same conclusion as me, it shows this is a realistic route to attscking the United States on its own turf.

Whether or not the PLA succeeds in reaching New york on the east coast- is another story. I am confident to say that the entire West coast will be under threat, not by the sea, but by land from up north.

This isn't WW2. Every soldier has a grenade and a single grenade launcher would take out 15 to 20 rednecks holding a shotgun. Don't be dumb.

Common misconception. And many are former mlitary.

Depends on the state you live in. But I can tell you that if an invasion comes, gun shops and gun conventions will be cleaned out.

You cannot invade mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." - Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto.
As if their shitty rifles can save them from an army just look at iraq, Chechnya, Afghanistan and Libya their armed people didn’t do much against an invaders.

.
i think invading u.s from sea is difficult but mexico border is threat to them as many drug dealers have network of tunnels operating from mexico to u.s cities at border which supply drugs and are involved in other illegal matters i n u.s

.
You’ll also have to deal with NATO and Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. It’s not as easy as it seems as they’ve created a network of allies and over the last Cold War which will still hold.

OK. But China herself can do that alone, in case she win against US in massive west pacific war.

USA defence is top-notch in my opinion.

First is their location that is far from any major powers.

For another country military to reach USA is hard.

Second, their citizens are armed.

Once foreign military landed on USA soil, they will get hard resistance, not just by the USA military, but also the citizens.

But of course, in the near future, everything will be different with the new technologies.

Not to mention that even their older people have fighting instincts in them.... Americans are born macho men..... impossible to invade America let alone defeat her.....

.
Modern big countries like US, China, and Russia are hard to conquer. Simply because they have many people, and have a very vast land. The only way to destroy them is from within. By their own people.
