Could Pakistan rival India's Bollywood?

.
It is because there no Pakistani films being produced. The Pakistan film industry collapsed due to the low quality films. Only locally produced television dramas rule in Pakistan.
by low quality you mean not technology wise, but b grade movies, which middle class family is uncomfortable to watch. right?
anyway, most people including me predicted that allowing bollywood to pakistan will actually revive pak cinema (in another thread probably by @Horus, which was about how bollywood corrupting innocent pakistanis) and it seems I was right.
It creates an ecosystem in which people spend money on movie threatre(not watch at home), which means theatre owners expand and try to give better experience, which attracts more people including ladies/family. This means local movies can hope to get funding because they can hope to make money.

WOW! Nothing useful should be expected from Pakistanis. Setting Bollywood as a benchmark is an insult in itself.
Do even how many people in India watch Bollywood movies? Well, less than 5%(45 Million to be precise - as per Karan Johar). That should suggest a thing or two.
Bollywood movies only gross highly on Box Office because of huge market - both domestic and International.
Indians are present in significant numbers in almost every Nation. Box Office doesn't reflect the quality of Bollywood.

I haven't watched Bollywood movies in quite a while but back when I did, it was mostly
Ram Gopal's Crime genre movies and even those would have scenes copied from
Hollywood. The opening of Sarkar was copied The Godfather, for example.
I don't believe Nudity sells. It sounds more like an excuse for the lack of talent.
Both Pakistan and India severely lack quality TV artists.

Watch some good movies...every industry has its share of good And bad movies....no doubt directors like rgv make crap but there are good movies as well .......bollywood as a whole is maturing and is a good enough benchmark for industries like lollywood

Watch some good movies

Namely? I did watch Dhoom 3 last year and was awestruck. Couldn't have gotten any worse.
Might see PK some time soon I guess.

Horror's not Ram Gopal's forte but his Crime movies aren't bad to be honest.
Way better than your usual Bollywood movie at least. Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Company,
Satya are comparatively way better.

Sure, Bollywood's maturing. Bollywood, however, shouldn't be the benchmark for 'Lolly', as far as I'm concerned.

Bin Roye had a budget of 30-35 million PKR and will probably end up making about 100 million PKR.
In the UK market alone it has managed to make €150,000 in three days.
This despite it being by all accounts a shitty movie except for Mahira.
3 bahadur was an animated movie and it ended up making 60 million PKR.
The point is if you have a half decent product now there is enough of a market to give you a profit and that market is only increasing.
Allowing Bollywood films to be released here made all of this possible !

There are 22 languages...and 22 film industries in India..In fact more...Every industry churns out more movies the probably lolly wood does..The bollywood watching crowd gets limited because of the language barrier.

P's. All those 22 languages have their own tv dramas.

your hindi cinema wals considers south indian actresses as B grade i dont know what is their take on male actors

at least there heroes and directors dnt think that way.. In the last 3-4 yrs a lot of south indian movies are remade in bollywood while hardly 2-3 bollywood movies are remade in south...

.
No Pakistan Can not.
However, Pakistan need to devise a niche strategy and focus on some specialized area and develop that. Once they get recolonization , they can move to other area.

.
No,they are just like bollywood, just in a different language.

True that, but once in a while south delivers movies that redefines the standards of Indian movie industry.. at least for the foreseeable future i am not expecting a movie on the standards of robo or bahubali from bollywood..

If our movies are to become any better, then the director and the story writer should start concentrating on script rather than trying to project the hero as someone with inhuman powers..:hitwall:

. .
Yes you are right, romance is
important part of successful movie.

what is technical problem in banning Bollywood in Pakistan......i really fail to understand if people really hate so much Bollywood.....than who is forcing them to watch Indian movie .......kuch income tax benefit milta hai kya
