Could Pakistan rival India's Bollywood?

Waar has nothing less than a Bollywood movie , and some upcoming movies like Yalghar , seen 100 times better than Indian Comedy action ...

Waar was probably the worst film i watched last year,,,,even worst than bollywood shit i hate already.
But waar was on a whole different league

TECHNICALLY and TALENT Wise

I disagree.
Watch some iranian movies to see there is no relationship between population, resources and good cinema.

Unfortunately for subcontinent, people don't know what that thing is,they are just after bajraangi bhaijaans:rofl::rofl::rofl:

If by rivalry you mean a competition by following the same trends.
Then it's a big no from my side. They, the lollywood guys had lost our respect. But now it seems like that they are heading towards earning our disgust as well.

Please be a constructive and innovative force for our society.Be more natural, open minded and yet creative at your work, instead of staging mujras and aiming for a standard that may not coincide with the demands of future.

Learn from others and apply it in such a way that can suit your environment and future goals.
If that can happen then i wish them all the best.

you are a Indian , that is your only Problem hahahah
i cant do anything for this disease , just wish that get well soon ..
Waar was at least better than your Comedy Action ... and Rajnee style movies ..
lol ... they fight like joker and monkey's are jumping in jungle

Bollywood is pretty bad already,,,find something else to emulate seriously.

I wish it was that simple.
People of subcontinent, well,at least a majority of us ar just too dumb to like meaningful stuff.

We crave for the shitty stuff that ultimately gets made.

and that's why I never watch any South Asian movies except a small number of old films or big hits like Waar.....I dont watch much TV at all but i prefer American movies.

It is impossible for Pakistani film industry to come out of Bollywood's shadow
Both financially ; TECHNICALLY and TALENT Wise

You could make the case that it is impossible for bollywood to come out of its need for Pakistani actors. It works both ways

Too immature to even argue,u are(oh i talked like yoda:D)

I am a genuine movie buff and not a nationalist sob on cinema,,,grow out of this mentality. Not everyone likes rajni or salman or shahrukh.

Iranian films get a few awards every year in various film festivals but
they are ALWAYS about hardships ; difficulties and struggles of common folks

Such esoteric films are loved by Western Audiences

For a long time Bollywood too was considered just song and dance by the West

It is Only in the last 10 years or so that they have begun to take
notice of Bollywood

And Bollywood films are now popular and well known
all over the world

Bollywood has Reached where it is not in a day or two

It has taken a lot of sweat and toil to GET this INTERNATIONAL STATURE
for Bollywood

And how do u expect them to earn??
The average people in our countries are too poor, too illinformed and fed on melodrama for decades.

They won't change soon and as a result the movie quality, taking into consideration people's choice for rather simple, stupid love stories will remain shyte too.

I don't need ur advice on where bollywood is heading,,,no disrespect intended.

If 100 movies are made, maybe 5-6 are good.

Surely we are improving but as i stated, till the society craves for intelligent cinema instead of romcoms,i don't expect shit.

You could make the case that it is impossible for bollywood to come out of its need for Pakistani actors. It works both ways

Since Indian films are ALLOWED in Pakistan we just repay the favour
by ALLOWING Pakistani artists

Though we do not NEED them ; we have immense talent in our country

We get Western Blonde girls who are willing to work in Bollywood

Ali Zafar and Fawad Khan are just Grade B actors

It is a very big industry ; so many films are made

So Pakistani artists too get to work in a few films

Surely we are improving but as i stated, till the society craves for intelligent cinema instead of romcoms,i don't expect shit.

Does it matter what YOU want

There are more than One BILLION people in this country

Pakistani actors are horrible, I mean Mahira is 3th rate actress. She can't act to save her life in drama serial so imagine her in movies. If something can be done about this then overall budget will matter less.

Maybe, but to have one of the worst movie industries on the planet as your benchmark i.e. Bollywood, then you may as well give up.

That is just your Opinion

Considering Bollywood's growing popularity in the WORLD
(and we all know about the popularity of Bollywood films in Pakistan )
That does not seem to be the truth

Yes it does:sarcastic:

It seems You want the refund for Bajrangi Bhaijaan :p:

It is indeed my opinion and the majority of the world. No one watches Bollywood, apart from Indians, Pakistanis, Afghans and the expat communities. You get some Arabs watching but that's only to see the girls jiggle their breasts.

It's bakwas bhai seriously.

I m sorry to break your heart but most of the Pakistani movies these days are influenced by Bollywood. The dialogues, music, choreography, characters and even some sequences taken out of Bollywood movies.

With this level of plagiarism, you can only be good at copying not competing.

Pakistani moves can compete when they are original. Our strength is writing, the screenplay, poetry, not cheap glamour and glitz thats shallow and incompatible with reality. Pakistani movies should take inspiration from Pakistani drama.

Have any of you seen an Irani movie? That I believe is very close to Pakistani drama - strong acting, dialogue and solid story based on reality and everyday lives.

If Pakistani movies can create a unique niche, even small, we could say it can compete. At this moment, no, not at all.
