Could Pakistan rival India's Bollywood?

Pakistan has released a film which it hopes will enable it to step out of the shadow of India's world-famous Bollywood film industry.

The film, called Bin Roye, has a budget to rival what its neighbour usually spends, and a plot that would not look out of place on Indian screens.

Why not? The UK make movies which are popular around the world to rival Hollywood

Indian film industry is more than Bollywood, only in Mumbai you can find more than 5-6 regional language movies at theater...

Waar has nothing less than a Bollywood movie , and some upcoming movies like Yalghar , seen 100 times better than Indian Comedy action ...

I think we have talent ( more) like actor/ess or singers but all that has to mature and take off. However religion/conservative culture will always restrain artistic flair so Bollywood will always lead. The irony is going to be our actor/ess and singer/s and market will be utilized by Bollywood.

However our moral brigade will not see sense. They have to look and act that they are doing good. Although the funny thing they will push our people to Bollywood.

Bollywood can depend on the Mullah brigade to hand over the 200 million Pak market to India.

india is large - they churn out thousands of movies a month. WE should focus on quality, not quantity. Fewer but meaningful works is worth more than large-scale dumped goods of little substance

The Bollywood formula may not work in Pakistan but people are addicted to it. We have more conservative culture and the semi-nudity and love scenes in Indian movies have to be censored. Some Indian movies cannot be watched in family gathering. So Pakistanis have their television dramas instead of movies for entertainment.

Since Pakistanis LOOK Like Indians and the language too
would be a mix of Urdu and Punjabi ; the people in the WEST
would think of Pakistani movies as just another Bollywood film

Even the story lines ; plot and the locations where movies are shot
will be similar

Bollywood is pretty bad already,,,find something else to emulate seriously.

I wish it was that simple.
People of subcontinent, well,at least a majority of us ar just too dumb to like meaningful stuff.

We crave for the shitty stuff that ultimately gets made.

It is impossible for Pakistani film industry to come out of Bollywood's shadow
Both financially ; TECHNICALLY and TALENT Wise
