But to be fair, the case of inflated bills has much more to do with our nalayeqi as well.

Capacity payments are a major chunk, but so are T&D losses and theft.

It's all bcoz of over efficient elite of pindi and isb. I hope the people wakes up now and burn the citadels of pindi and isb.

oh donkey indian, check bills first people are getting bills of 20k at only using 80units which is like a fan and a bulb for a month.

Here is the situation.

Electric bill at 300 units in this year is very close to electric bill at 600 units in previous year.
People could use two DC inverter in previous year.
Now people can use one DC inverter in the present and rather calculatedly.
Absolute lack of relief even with consumption level slashed to half.

Now there are a large number of households out there who were excessively charged and there connections are removed upon lack of payment. What these people are supposed to do? Who is responsible for these irregularities because LESCO officials do not care about your complaints. Money does not grow on trees for a large number of people. LESCO infrastructure and management is a lot to be desired unfortunately.

Now there are the elites whose electric bills are far lower than what they are supposed to be. Perks that come with posts. Even though these people have very high salary package, these people do not want to pay the bills.

There are also stealers out there, people who steal electricity from others.

Some people can get solar panels but can’t afford the batteries. The upfront costs are high and some people don’t know how to properly set up a solar power system.

Otherwise you are going to continue paying minimum payment to CCP/China companies and keep rolling over incremental backlog interest (and fees and guarantee profits) to the point where there will nothing left for people or even government employees

For a lawyer or judge to be involved, there has to be a legal dispute. What is the dispute in producing a product that is so expensive that people cannot afford it? I can't afford a Rolls Royce; Whom should I sue? Before you say, "but electricity is an essential commodity ...", the electric companies will say if we can't recoup our costs we have to close.

Its still confusing

How can just an increase of 4.5 Rs or so in tariff per Kwh, take the bill to thousands of rupees?

Is the power board levying some extra Electricity Duty or Tax to common households above the tariff? In India the common households are tariffed lower compared to Industrial users. The households aren't charged this additional tax, as long as their consumption hovers at certain unit level, crossing which they too will have to pay it.

Power companies over billing isn't new, it happens here too. However when I go to complain, what they usually do is to adjust in consecutive bills.

The composition of Power generation modes on national level for Pakistan, comprises lot of costly methods besides Hydel and Nuclear modes. Maybe these power generation companies are forcing the authorities, to pass on this to people?
