CPI Index: PTI’s Pakistan more corrupt than PML-N’s Pakistan
JANUARY 23, 2020

Transparency International shows more corrupt Pakistan than ever before. In 2019, Pakistan‘s ranking fell from 117 to 120 [correction made] as compared to 2018. CPI score fell from 33 to 32 as well. For the 1st time in the last decade, Pakistan has done worse than before.

Corruption in Pakistan maintained its strong grip, as the country fared poorly in the newly released Transparency International global report on the 2019 Corruption Perception Index (CPI).

The Corruption Perceptions Index ranks 180 countries and territories by their perceived levels of public sector corruption, according to experts and business people. This year’s analysis shows corruption is more pervasive in countries where big money can flow freely into electoral campaigns and where governments listen only to the voices of wealthy or well-connected individuals.

“The Transparency International Secretariat explained that in CPI 2019 many countries have not performed well this year,” he said, implying that Pakistan being perceived as more corrupt was in line with worsening views of public sector organizations globally. Muzaffar also applauded the National Accountability Bureau’s “rejuvenation” but did not clarify how that squared with the anti-graft watchdog being perceived as a tool for political victimization—or criticism from the higher judiciary that NAB’s faulty prosecutions were damaging the body’s own image.

The country had scored 33/100 on the CPI in 2018 and 32/100 in 2017. Although Pakistan’s score on the index has not changed much compared to the past year, changes in the scores of other countries on the list can be one reason why Pakistan slipped in the ranking.

I agree with this report, Pakistan freed all looteras like Nawaz, shahbaz, rana drug dealer, zardari, faryal talpur and many more, this will give more confidence to future thieves who are eagerly waiting to join this profession.

Surprisingly, not a single PTI Patriot posted this beautiful news from today. Shame.

It's a perception index, don't know if you are familiar with the word perception "hint: google"

Disclaimer: Imran Khan has been doing nothing but babbling. He and his team haven't delivered jack shit, so his prospects are bleak because of his terrible performance so far.

Based on some of the news I have read over the last few months...there has been some progress in lowering imports and lowering the overall yearly deficit but I think the progress is slow...
...I'm not an economist so perhaps somebody who understands these things better can explain in NON BIASED terms. I'm so tired of all the fanboys(whether PML-N or PTI). All of that needs to stop...the loyalty should be to the country and not some political party. Appreciate the progress(of any party) and grill the corruption(of any party)...it's the country and its progress that matters.

.
LOL you patwaris :disagree:

The only reason pakistan is "more corrupt" now is that the corruption is actually behind documented.

There has not been an increase, just that the PTI government is now documenting what corruption there is.

Patwaris and Indians are the same, Indians will also point to Sweden as having more rapes, as both do not understand the difference between actual corruption/rapes vs documented corruption/rapes. :azn:

The problem with Imran Khan is that he is a good motivational speaker but that's pretty much it, have voted and rooted for him in past. But his performance and his team is nothing but pathetic to say the least. We don't expect miracles on economy front. But the other things that were promised don't necessarily needs one to be an economic power. Thana culture, police, bureaucracy, courts and what not. Forget about jobs, ghar and whatnot he said in his manifesto. Even the state of affairs of his own teams, ministers, "wasim akram+" etc are enough to show what's the competency level of the guy.. Metric of his performance is peshawar metro project... all chatter but no work.

P.S don't get me started on the corruption narrative he made... A.C utarwao ga, do nahi aik Pakistan... and what happened is history. Complete disaster this guy is...

I wanted him to come to power(couldn't vote as I'm not in the country)...just so something new can be tried bcuz the previous clowns playing musical chairs with power were clearly leading the country nowhere...
...but I hated the part where he let lotas join his party. All the corrupt idiots from other parties jumped ship and started joining PTI when they saw the rising support for PTI...and IK let them in bcuz of their established name/voter base. That was a terrible move bcuz if they are corrupt then they are corrupt no matter what party they belong to.
...second thing I hated about him is giving in to pressure by mullahs regarding that qadiyani(I think) economic advisor. IK should've stood his ground. The dude was to be hired based on his qualification as an economist...to correct the economy...he wasnt being put in charge to lead jummah prayer. It's no different than how the Chinese engineers come to build bridges and other such things.

I think that's his biggest weakness...he made many tall claims but then acquiesces under pressure...hence the mixed results of his government so far. Anyways...let's see how things turn out by the end of his term.

BTW...do u know of any members on PDF who majored in economics(or have a good understanding of the subject)? I think it would be awesome if we could have a sticky thread with contributions from those members about the progress of Pak economy under IK. I hate all the cherrypicked news by the fanboys...it muddys the water and noobs like me have a hard time seeing a clear picture of where the economy is headed. If those members could pick out the weeds...and post updates about economic indicators in a non biased manner...that would be amazing.

This doctored new. Transparency international said corruption increased in Pakistan they never said PTI more corrupt.

The reason for that is as previous govt were corrupt they hid corruption where PTI is exposing it and fighting corruption. Imran Khan has never denied corruption but he openly admits that there is corruption in country and he has waged war on it.

Exactly, and then all the cry about tolerance and progressiveness. Muslim, non muslim, qadiani or whatever if the person is a Pakistani and competent that's enough of a criteria to be heading any office. But again all chatter and babbling..

Anyways...let's see how things turn out by the end of his term.

I hope for the best, not for imran khan but for this country. We don't have anyone else to replace him. I want him to succeed for the sake of Pakistan.

When you don't understand it, you don't need to seek attention by making fascist statements.

Patwar or Village officer is a constitutional post of Pakistan. What has India to do with this or the Indians?

you cannot name one scandal brought forward by this government not even ones happening now or have been going on in this tenure.

If there is more corruption in the country it means the government is responsible for letting it happen.

when mega scandal corruption investigations do not result in someone being convicted. perception of corruption grows further.

EINSTEINS ALL OF YOU
