Complete Avionics Description of PAF coming F16 MLUs

F-16 Mid-life Update
Introduction
At the end of the 1980s the US Air Force began to study an avionics upgrade for the F-
16A/B and also attracted interest from four European NATO air forces that also operated the
F-16. Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and Denmark. US upgradeds more than 300 F16s for euorpe through dis programe.

The MLU up gradation has following Characteristics

Modular mission Computer
MMC is used for the management and control of
Weopens Sys
HMD a new thing being added
HUD
MMC is the basically the same as CIP of F22Raptor
30LRM slots in MMC racks

MMC has four functional Areas:
1 Data processing set (DPS);
2Avionics display set (ADS) interfacing with the HUD;
3Avionics I/O (AIOS) interfacing with the avionics units;
4Power set (PS) controlling the power supplies and conditioning.


RADAR of MLU

It is AN/APG66 (V)2A
It can 10 track targets while scan
TWST capability
It has some great A2A an d ground mapping capability
A new digital processor and enhanced Radar processor.
And low in volume wait and need less energy for coolind so less burden’
Multiplexing bus is included in RADAR
Advanced identification of Friend or foe AIFF with APX 113 V using transponding



HUD is widely angled

MFDs are also included

Communication and navigations sys are integrated with data entry mechanisms

Enhanced stick grip using HOTAS

Communication is secured with latest modulator demodulator equipment in ultra high freq mode.

Terin profile matching using TAPROM architecture.

GPS enhanced features
LANTIRN ……….. a navigation targeting pod


F16 MLU MULTIPLEXING ARCHITECTURE
MUX A is the avionics bus integrating different avionic sys
MUX D is the displays bus integratin diff avionic sys
MUX W is the weapons bus controlled by the stores management system for rapid firing and rapid data transmission to guided system

thats APG 66 is not a AESA radar. Block 60 has that one and improved performance of approx 30 to 55%

This is what we will have after some time and now quetion is that can we meet with enemies if such things r in ARSENAL

Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems (JHMCS)

AN/ALE-47 Advanced Countermeasures Dispenser Systems
Have Quick I/II Radios
ALQ-131 Block II Electronic Countermeasures Pods without the Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM)
ALQ-213 Electronic Warfare Management Systems

zavis rather than posting all these articles copied from other websites, you should do what Faisal has done here. Summarise the article into a few short paragraphs so everybody will read it (not many people will read all that stuff you posted, it will take too long) and then start a discussion, for example ask a question such as "what capabilities will Link 16 add? How will Synthetic Aperture Radar be useful to F-16 pilots?"
