1) They are extremely risk averse (no innovation).
2) They are title chasers and quickly choose the manager stream (Engineer -> Manager -> Sr. Manager -> Director).
3) Due to a need to grow up the ladder pretty fast, most of them play a lot of politics and turn the engineering organization into a government office.
4) They are extremely lazy & bad managers (again, due to risk averseness).
