There has been a new trend in many if not all UK universities and colleges after their Budget have been cut and Stringent laws have been made for foreign students.
Universities have been purposely failing some foreign students and then ask UK immigration agency to cancel their visas.
The catch is that the college or University gets to keep the poor student's whole semester fees, which they have already paid in advance, and in next term they admit new students on the same vacant seat. That way they earn more money.
I have seen two similar cases.
In one case an Indian Law student doing PHD was asked to leave the country within 28 days by UK Immigration agency. The poor woman had paid 20,000 GBP for 3 year PHD program.
When she submitted her first assignment, the University
told her that she isn't up to the par with their academic requirements and should leave the course.
It was a simple case of a student submitting first paper of the semester and not writing it up to the required level. In all cases a resit is given. But here the University simply rang up Uk immigration department who cancelled her visa which was valid until 2016,and asked her to leave within 28 days.
No chance of appeal,or legal proceedings was given to her.
Now the university is 20,000 pounds better off and the Indian woman is back in India with nothing.
There have been many similar cases in recent months where well known British universities and colleges simply conspire with UK immigration to deport the student on various reasons and refuse to refund their fees.
So if you are planning to come to UK,keep this in mind that you may be deported if at any time and University or college has the ultimate say.

.
that university must be scam, not well known university

The Coalition have really effed up immigration and higher education- this is just the perfect storm! I've heard similar horror stories and yes, even if the Uni doesn't deport/scam the foreing student they still fleece them for all their worth. They pay 2-3 times more (all things considered) than a UK citizen would for the same course. Still it's probably cheaper than studying in the US.

Currently many Colleges and Universities have UK immigration (UKBA) office inside their Building..Blackpool and Fylde college has one, seen myself.
They will keep an eye on you all the time,if you are a foreign student and even failing a class test,or missing college for a few days will give them reason to deport you...
Works for them, they keep the money.

Yeah, it's pretty well known that foreign students are used solely as a means of income for many Unis/colleges these days.

.
Can't she hire a lawyer and petition her case in the Immigration Tribunal :what:

.
Yeah, but it's not a particularly well regarded Uni, is it?

I've never heard of it before anyway!

You may be aware of this well known university and what happened to it's Foreign students? All were given 60 days to find another course elsewhere and university kept their fees. Those who had available funds could find admission elsewhere but lost much time. Many didnt have the money and either went home voluntarily or deported.
London Metropolitan University visa licence revoked: Q&A | Education | guardian.co.uk

This is effing tragic mate, it really is. YOu'd have thought there'd be some sort of regulation around this. Of course the UKG doesn't give a sh!t about these guys who are trying to better themselves but gives hand over fist to the lazy benifit seekers.

Coalition and their misplaced priorities.

This country is going to sh!t around us- I'll be glad when I get out!

Once upon a time it was more easy to get a fake degree in UK than in Pakistan because you had so many private colleges and uni running in UK purely for business purpose to recruit as many International students as possible to make good money but not any more because of restriction of UKBA :D:P

You better take admission in government sponsor universities and colleges of good ranking if you are serious about study even if it cost you bit more. These private colleges are useless because they don't have any future and don't have good facilities and quality education..All they care is your money and once they have it then they will forget about you :)

Now even a real degree is extremely difficult, not due to studies but their wild mad immigration policies.
Its a gamble...you may or may not get deported, dependin on your luck.
UCLAN isnt private its government funded, and they too are a scam.
