Coming soon: An 'agile, lethal, versatile' Indian Army

Hey guys any progress in FINSAS ?
Have guys read about the specs of helmet in FINSAS on wiki ? I mean if its true then our soldier will look something like this ....

page1_blog_entry10_1.jpg

The helmet will have night vision, IR sensor, Chemical and biological sensor, ear phone along with a visor which will add as heads-up display. Well i don't understand the need for this head-on display because they will have a palmtop but it will look cool.

.
majority of troops should be posted in a command in the North east primarily in Assam totaling 200k to 500k Indian reserve/active troops our primary theater is the east and North east but western front is already protected well

.
Especially true @the emboldened part!
20 years and still no Artillery gun?!

Well Congress gets fits whenever the word artillery, Bofors are mentioned.

If I am not wrong the original Bofors deal also included licence production of that gun in India. Where are those?

.
Thanks seneor but what about all the lifes at steak of owr young officers & jawans who fight daily with these obsolete & may i say crap guns daily & putting there lifes on the line for owr nation & what are they getting in return(Adarsh scam)pethettik

I have been saying it for a long time but most seniors on this site ignore it or belittle me. Thanks you for sharing your pain. As someone who experiences a loss of a close family member (brother), I hope and wish your statement sends a clear msg to these delusional naysayers. It is time for you, others who have lost ones in the military, and even military members themselves to finally speak up. It will never get better unless you guys on the front lines fighting and dying for India makes a public effort. The ppl of India will always listen to guy first before any politicans. Organize and get the msg out there.....Facebook, public forums in India, schools and Univerisities, etc. Never give up the figt against corruption. My friend, I too have mentioned the Advarch scam numerous times. Unfortunately, we have some members on this forum who blindly support India. Patriotism is a great attribute but when it makes you blind like a bat, it will cause your downfall. Cheers

Well before we go ambitous stuff lets get the basics correct. How about uniforms that match across the board? How about proper socks, boots, bullet proof vets., gloves, sunglasses, etc. These small items are just as important if not more important..

for a seventeen yr old a lot of cynicism . :)
life is sh!tty mate , but its your outlook on it which will help you through.:)

FINSAS even if developed to the degree as advertised, will mostly end up with Spec ops troops.
Perhaps the rifle may filter down to the regulars.

Folks, we have big armies, which means there is a large requirement for cannon fodder, like it or not.
And as long as there is demand for cannon fodder.. the good old jawan will just have to do with just enough.

^^^
Well we all know this project is a bit ambitious and ground reality at the moment is far from whats there on the posters of FINSAS but we want to be optimistic. Good thing in favor of this project is the seriousness of top IA brass to implement this project.

nope
A large number of Indian army personal already have metal plated armor. Not kevlar but still capable of stopping small arms even though heavy.
While you do say we require canon fodder, when did India and Pakistan ever have a slaughter like the PLA or the Soviets during WWII?
The British Indian Army was not canon fodder. They were highly regarded for completed their tasks unlike the British and especially American counter-parts that too with less resources. However politics is another matter of WWII.
During the Indo-Pak wars what were the casualties? How long were the wars?
Ans. Not in the hundreds of thousands if even in the tens of thousands and the wars were very short.
We brought tanks and air power. We were quick to use the tools and proper tactics to achieve victory.
ie cut the head.
Compared to WWII USSR and PLA in WWII or in the 70's, India and Pakistan have shown more detailed planning in their war efforts on the officer/brigade level. India and Pakistan do value their soldiers lives. That is why both spend a lot of time training their soldiers on shooting ranges as compared to the PLA who mostly have become part soldier and part humanitarian like the national defence of the US.
A trained soldier when motivated is worth more than a quick conscript/canon fodder. India and Pakistan will use conscripts when needed. And so far both have never used conscription.
