Intellectual property in China is a problem... They are seen as a restriction of innovation , therefore should be "shared"
That's why not so many Foreign tech industries "Fully" put feet in China, even thou' they would like it...
We can see it with Phones manufacturing... where few "assembly" lines from a manufacturer are used to be sold into OEM or underbrand... at a lesser price etc...( with minor change, like less memory, color, OS etc...), an exemple is" 6lines for Samsung +2 for Nokia+1 OEM"
So when you decide, to manufacture your goods, whatever they are, you should be ready to have a copy of it, out in the market... . And that's a problem for sellers... But it wasn't really a problem back in the days..;since almost all of those copies were sold in China, where that same "real" brand wasn't selling there... But with the emergence of Global sells 'Alibaba/ali express/amazon/ebay and so on.. those copies could be sold at the same vendor, with lower prices ( and slightly less spec or some times not).
That happen, for every foreign goods...who choose to manufacture in China...
From that moment, those Foreign brand started to lobby in their own countries, as a retaliation/protectionism for their own goods... it's understandable.
And it's also, foreign brand faults... taken by greed, they choosed to take this deadly bet, by manufacturing in China, while knowing, that their secrets will be seen somedays... BUt I think they underestimated, The will and comittment of China to equal them... That's what you get in arrogantly underestimate others...
China is nowadays, pattenting whatever innovation they have, to be able to fight against "tech sharing/stealing"... But, only the future will tell us... how foreign entities will react to that... will they follow the law of the market or behave like China before...and How China will react in future when her core "patent"/"Innovation" is used freely... by others...
