COAS visited Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra.

Only thing new I was able to spot... 2P-718 serial number. Remember, B model serial begins with 19-6xxView attachment 593706

Block-2, 71st Aircraft, Bravo

When inducted, it should look something like JF-17 Thunder 19-271 or 19-271B if they've decided to add the letter "B" at the end for dual seaters.

B model begins with 19-6xx, that's the whole point. In A model, 101-150 was Block-I, 201-250 was Block II. Now if current B serial is 19-60x then what does it means. Is it means 19-671. Doesn't make sense because we cannot churn out that much Thunder Bs in 2019 which is about to finish. Plus PAF never announced to induct these many B model.

Can be dual seater for foreign delivery ? It’s is dual seater due to hump on top of the fuselage

Check out the size similarities between the REK and the LGB.....They both seem of MK-84 Category something usually not associated with the REK.
At the bottom is standard MK-84 General Purpose bomb.

As far as we Know serial number of B version starts with 6 like 601,602, 603,604, but here it's not only start with 7 but also indicating that 17 other examples are already produced, with 2P nomenclature it is blk-II version ...
Here's another theory (that contradicts my original one). Based on the fact that this probably reads 2P-71B I think we are just seeing a block 2B. In production PAC must have decided to keep the numbers going for 2P (same series for As and Bs).

2P-71B is more logical as we know 8 JF-17B were planned to be produced in this year and we have already seen the pic of 2P-62 in PAC in a TV programme on-air in the month of September which mean either one more single seats is produced i.e. 2P-63 or 9 dual seats are produced this years against the planned number of 8 dual seat
Either :
62 (single seat version) + 9 (dual seat version) = 71
OR
63 (single seat version)+ 8 (dual seat version as planned) = 71

If the 600 series is used, that should end with 626.

The dual seater with Myanmar has the serial number 17-07. Maybe PAF serial numbers will have "B" at the end of them. Again, I don't know until the dual seaters are inducted in numbers.

I just think PAF has ordered a lot more Block-2s both in single and dual seaters than originally planned and they want to replace the 136 F-7s in its inventory as soon as possible.

If you look at what happened to IAF Mig-21on the 27th Feb when it was mistakenly pitted against PAF's F-16s, Mirages or JF-17 Thunders, it didn't appear to stand a chance. So, PAF is probably expecting the same result for F-7s if they have to be used against a very large fleet of IAF's Su-30s, Mirages and Rafales.

Yes, that's exactly what my brains tell me. the order is much larger. Wish we could have seen the cockpit of this one as well but video camera didn't capture that. Only other explanation can be that it is indeed a block-III under construction.

I really wish, they produce a large fleet of Thunders, small but many, casts to much fear for the enemy. We already have technological edge, let’s aim for numbers as well

BTW, since AESA is supposed to be in house, we can expect sooner upgrades of Block 1 and 2 radars.

Agreed. 7-18 does not makes sense even if we speculate the digit 7 for Block-III which warrants the question as where are rest of 17 frames making it to 718?

So, it is like Block-2 in Production (2P) which will be 71st of total Block-2s configuration. 2P-71B. 71st Air Craft of total Block-2 and this one is B Version of the same Block-II. As soon as ready for operation, we might see 19-607 or 605 or 606 but something like.
