If Asim wants his DG ISI, Asim will make it happen.

Idk about you but I think what that means is they only cared when he infringed on their rights (promotions/postings etc)

Ayub Khan was made C-in-C superseding Gen Sher Ali Khan who was a brilliant General officer and admired by the whole army not to mention being the senior most.
The less said about General Musa who was handpicked by Ayub Khan who promoted himself to the rank of Field Marshal.
Yahya Khan was a competent military officer who was decorated in WW2 but he had no political acumen during the 71 crisis.
General Gul Hasan another competent military officer lasted a few months as C-in-C when Bhutto removed him accusing him of "bonapartist tendency " and appointed Gen Tikka Khan a ordinary General.
Bhutto then chose Gen Zia ul Haq superseding several more efficient and competent General officers - Zia overthrew Bhutto and changed the course of the history of Pakistan and the army - we are suffering from his policies to this day.
Then came the Nawaz era and we all know the disasterous selections he has made leading to his ouster by his handpicked General Musharraf ( who turned out to be a better in politics than in military matters.
He was followed by the highly machavillan personalities of Kiyani and Bajwa who lasted for 6 years each and took the opportunity away from many generals to be COAS.
And now we have General Asim Munir whose only fame is that he is a Hafiz-e-Quran.
Meanwhile the Once proud institution of the Army suffers.

But Bajwa, Asim Munir, and like have destroyed army without India doing any thing.
If Army won't deal with the rogue elements in Army, consequences will be horrible for Army. Eventually discipline will crack.

Like Pakistani society at large Pakistan army is all about money now. there should be a law against civil service once you retire from army. What we have now is that entire country is controlled by serving and retired Army officer and then we blame how can Army control everything in the country.

Muslims of South Asia and by extension Pakistan have been suffering at the hands of sepoy (Pak) army for the past 250 years ever since Mir Jaffer signed them up for colonial services.

A law required, no army officer can be employed by govt after retirement except JCO's and NCO's and that too only in LEA.
Same should be for judges at every level.

I'm in 100% agreement on everything. However, some loyalists can't see beyond a particular sight, too afraid to point at their sacred institution.
You being an Ex-Army Officer gives some hope that there are still good people, but the weight of bad ones pushes us down.

A lot of boot loyalist are also getting a software update. Pakistan is above all, army is not the most important institution and should not be a one man show.

I hope people within the forces wake up now. They have to realize majority of them will retire and suffer the same fate has their fellow citizens. These corrupt generals will retire in foreign countries or live in major cities with their haram wealth. Mutiny doesn’t have to be violent, they can make a stand and force change.

IK is larger than life, he is too big for them and keeps growing everyday.

it would be a suicide for any general and his team to take him out now.

There are some conflicting reports coming about the whole matter. DG ISI, the dirty Harry gang who are on payroll of Sharifs and are the Bajwa men, the stooges are trying to sideline and ostracize the new COAS, Bajwa was against him appointed as the COAS.

So these reports are spread to put internal pressure on Asim Munir by the rank and file. The FBR/Nadra leaking some of the documents about his family, the spouse to other family assets were a case in point, done by the ISI Nadeem Anjum with Sharif connivance to malign him further.

There is more to it than meets the eye, he is better than certainly DG ISI Nadeem A. and some of the dirty Harry internal wing gang. Made difficult by the old Bajwa men to reign and command with power.

Also Nawaz Sharif is not happy with him as he is not behaving as a stooge, a puppet of him, and that IK is still there. He looks to be going by the book and not yielding to Sharif Cabal.

When you're carrying that stick as a Chief you better use it! If indeed some folks are playing dirty against him within the army he needs to ruthlessly go against them....

Anyway, it's up to the public leadership to keep army in its place. If IK gets back to the power he needs to get at at the helms of the affairs within the military.....

When a general wanted to say something to Reis Erdo'an he retorted like: Shut the fu*k up, you're just a public servant of the republic in my government....

In all practicality, if IK comes back, he can’t go all gung ho on military inc, as much as we all like.

But one thing is to show them their place and kickstart a process to reduce their influence in politics and bring them under the rule of law.

This will be a slow process to knock sense into the Chief Chaprasi Grade 22 officer that his aukaat is lower than that of a Defense Secretary.
